Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
Although it is made well, its just not that cozy. It will be ok for warm temps, and sleeping indoors, but there just isn't much loft to this bag. I felt like I would be more comfortable brining a heavy old quilt along for car camping or couch surfing.

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
I am a brand new camper. I bought this as my first grown up bag to camp with my kids. we've gone camping now about 4 times in weather from 85f-50f and ive been completely comfortable. the material is soft and doesnt stick when im hot. i fit nicely in it and it packs really small. i live in the south east and this is for sure a 3 season bag. Thanks for a super sleeping bad!

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
Just took this out for a springtime trip, and it was perfect. The nighttime temps were in the mid 50's and the bag kept me toasty warm in only shorts & t-shirt, while sleeping in a hammock. In fact, I even had to unzip it once. The size and weight are ideal for backpacking, and although I haven't tried it yet, I'm sure it could keep you warm in cooler temps with a good liner.
I agree with others about the regular price point, but if you can get this on sale, its not a bad deal.

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
Used this bag for 5 weeks in a variety of hostels while walking the Camino de Santiago in Nov-Dec. It was quite adequate for the temp ranges but I don't know the lowest temps. I added a silk liner that increased the low range. It's a nicely made bag, no cold spots. The full zipper was useful for venting feet and/or upper body.

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
This is a great all around summer bag. As other reviewers have stated 45 is survival. Not about being comfy. I have used this bag on multiple backpacking trips for the summer. Great for everything. I have washed it a number of times and had no issues. For the price and small packable size it can't be beat.

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
This is a simple bag, but worked great on my trip to the Rockies in early August. We were up 9000+ feet and it dipped into the 40's at night. I sleep warm so the bag was good enough for me in temps a few degrees below the 45 degree range.
This bag has been great so far and I am using it again for some early fall backpacking too.
A note on temp ranges: Keep in mind that with all bags no matter who makes them or how they are filled the degree range listed on the bag is the temperature that you will survive in, not the actual temperature you will sleep comfy in, also factor in your weight, if you are skinny you will probably sleep colder and if you are heavier you may sleep warmer, but you will also compress the down and may still sleep cold due to compressing the feathers. Slipping a silk sleep sack into the bag can give you 5-8 degrees warmer range and also helps keep the bag clean too.

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
I went on my first hike last weekend and loved it! This bag worked great! We stayed at about 5000' next to a lake and I slept in shorts only and no extra covers or blankets. The temp was around 40 degrees at night and I never got cold while in my bag and I was sleeping in a hammock! It is super light and packs small. The hood is nice if you need to close it up to stay warm, and the zipper system is nice and easy to use while inside the bag. It's the only bag I use that doesn't snag while trying to zip up or down. I am 5'9" and 190lbs and had plenty of room to toss and turn in it. It's perfect for backpacking and spring / summer camping. So far I have no complaints about this bag.

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
This bag has been fantastic.
I've had this bag for about four months and have used it in varying temperatures, ranging from about forty degrees to seventy five. For someone like me, I get hot fairly easly, and have found this to be wonderful in the 50s-70s. I found it to be a little bit more of a chill though in the 40s, and would recomend a flee's, but I had no problems besides that. It is light wight and packs VERY well. It unzips fully which I absoluty love for when it gets warmer. It is a little expensive, but well worth it.

Comments about REI Travel Down +45 Sleeping Bag:
This bag FAR exceeded my expectations... I bought this bag in a pinch for some southern CA camping, and it couldn't have been better! I've had it close to 18 months, and have used it at least 30 times, IN THE CORRECT APPLICATION! The zipper withstood sand well (with proper care) and fits well for 5'10".
