Watch is accurate and easy to set. Multiple time zones settings are useful if you need to keep track of UTC time or are travelling. "Indiglo" functions by lighting the characters (instead of the entire watch face) with yellow light.

The only drawback to this watch is the band. Instead of the nylon / leather / plastic band, Timex should have used a resin band. The band has an unfortunate property of retaining odor and develops a life of its own. I suppose that could come in handy if you need to use the stench to ward off predators in the wild. The band is also uniquely designed to go with this watch, so it is difficult to replace with after-market bands.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

      I bought this watch just before a 3 week trip to Ecuador. The watch failed completely 10 days in. It was not the battery, just completely failed.

      Also, as the first reviewer noted, the strap is impossible to change, retains odors, and is slightly uncomfortable.

      Nice features though.

      Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
