Comments about Yakima HitchSki Ski Rack - 6 pair:
I've used it for two seasons on 5 trips and over 2,000 miles with no problems. The capacity is "up to" 6 pairs of skis. you cannot fit 6 pairs of adult skis with the thicker plate bindings, but you can fit 3. I pair 1 adult with 1 junior ski and easily fit 5 pairs of skis. I fit 5 pairs of skis (3 were junior) and a snowboard on my last trip. It is only as stable as the bike rack you attach it to. My Yakima rack uses a threaded bolt with lockwasher to attach to the hitch and is rock solid. It will bounce around on some bad roads. If your rack uses a simple hitch pin (no bolt) to attach to the hitch it won't be solid and will bounce around.

Comments about Yakima HitchSki Ski Rack - 6 pair:
I used this product for a snowboarding trip. I was driving a Subaru Tribeca with a tow package from Ventura, CA to Park City, UT.
When we installed it it went together easily and everything seemed like it was going to work great. then...
This thing ruined the driving portion part of the trip. When we looked back and we were surprised to see the hitch waving back and forth like two kids were hanging on it trying to break it. We had only two snowboards on it and it could barley handle it. People behind us flashed their lights at us warning us of the problem we already knew we had. It was not due to bad installation but to bad design. All that weight on a single mount does not work
