Comments about Carson The Rock Original Tripod:
I bought this thinking it would be a great tripod for backpacking because of how light it is.
Unfortunately, many of the key parts to the tripod are very weak plastic - especially the little crank that raises and lowers the pole.
I had it strapped on the outside of my bag and the first time it brushed against a tree i felt something break.
I returned it and got another. The same thing happened.
If you're going to be this in your backyard, you'll be fine. If you're going to take a tripod backpacking, get a manfrotto or other professional tripod.

Comments about Carson The Rock Original Tripod:
Never had a tripod before so didn't want to invest a lot of money. Needed one for a photo class treking through forests, etc. Have to mention that my camera is not a heavy DSLR, but a smaller camera. The tripod transported well in my daypack and was fairly sturdy for being made of lightweight aluminum. Can't wait to use it again.
