Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

Leatherman is a great company that listens to it's customers suggestions and often responds. The Leatherman Charge TTi is one of those responses (to "wishes" posted on their forum). It's the best of all the multi-tools if you compare features. As it has been pointed out, it's basically a "New" Wave with Titanium scales. It now has the popular serrated blade with the hook (useful for cutting straps quickly, or gutting), as well as the very sharp regular blade. Both main blades are smoothly one-hand opening and locking. There is still the saw and the file. It has the one large bit socket which can be adapted with double ended bits to like 20 different driver heads. Instead of the redundant 2nd bit socket, the very functional scissors are back. The small bit socket fits the micro-screwdriver heads. The decent can opener and a medium flat head screwdriver are also still there. All tools on the Leatherman TTi lock into place BTW, unlike earlier models or off brand copycat multitools. Another favourite golden oldie to return is the metric and SAE "ruler" along the edge of the tool. The needle nose pliers are a serious pro-grade tool, with that oval cam for improved leverage, and the wire cutters at the apex. It now includes the crimper (ostensibly desireable for EOD work... LOL). The handles with Titanium scales are very comfortable with beveled edges and rounded end caps.In it's current configuration, it is simply the perfect combination of REAL tools, but then they added the wonderous super-metal, Titanium! Why? probably for weight savings, but more likely just to show off... LOL. Titanium is stronger than steel, but is as light as Aluminum. It's incredibly heat resistant (used in everything from space capsules to hyper-sonic aircraft). It is non-magnetic and it does not corrode (like in seawater). The element Titanium has only one "bad" idiosyncrasy that I know of. Hmm???? The Aluminum scales version is probably just as effective in practical use, but the Titanium scales version was brought back by popular demand (for those that don't mind the extra expense for the ultimate in quality). Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

If you ever need to carry one single tool with you, this is it! 19 tools in one, with screwdriver bits etc. Keep in mind, ONLY the handle is titanium, the blades are stainless steel and no steel is truly stainless. Mine showed spotty bits of rust when stored for a long time in a humid area. Needs to be cleaned after use and oiled at the joints if not used for a long time. My major quarrel with this tool is two fold: 1) The price. 2) The bulk. The Leatherman wave is less bulky and costs almost half the price with 90% of the functionality/tools of the charge. The additional tools the charge has are not worth the price (gimmicks in my opinion). However, if you don't care about the cost and want to own the coolest tour-de-force tool that money can buy, then have it your way! Yes the blade in the charge is a tougher/more durable steel but the one in the Wave is more than you'll ever need.

Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

I'm a Manager at a Multi-Plex Theatre and am constantly having to fix problems around the building. From Projectors needing repair, replacing Wiring and electrics, to just opening boxes. This thing has gotten me through jams that would have taken me much longer to do with an entire tool set. I have used every tool on it, and would recommend anyone that needs a tool set to thing about getting one of these. Sure it will cost you a little bit more, but where else can you get a complete tool set that you can easily carry with you night and day.

Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

Leatherman Charge TTi manages to replace both the Charge Ti (w/scissors) and XTI (with cutting hook) by combining features of both. The externally accessible clip-point knife is made of S30V® stainless steel, better than the 154CM stainless used on the Ti/XTi and new AL/ALX blades. TTi handles, like the Ti and XTi before it, are made of sculpted titanium, even more cool (and slightly lighter weight) than the already excellent, aerospace-grade 6061-T6 aluminum alloy handles on the AL and ALX. All Charge models use bronze for their bushings to guarantee easy, consistent tool opening. Outside tools/blades lock securely. And all models include a kit containing 8 double-ended bits made of S2 tool steel, from a tiny eyeglass-repair screwdriver to 5/32" hex and 3/16" flat screwdrivers. The bit drivers themselves are among the inside tools. Comes with a quick-release lanyard ring and pocket-clip (a strong neck and pockets advised). An optional tool bit kit is available with 21 MORE double-ended bits on two more bit carriers. Just whatever you do, don't accidentally drop this in a carry-on bag and have it confiscated at the airport! For flying, Leatherman offers a knifeless Fuse multi-tool.

Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

This is the cream of the crop in the Leatherman range of tools - 19 tools and an assortment of bits for almost every use. The titanium handles look good and are comfortable to grip. The blades and scissors are very sharp. The quality and durability is excellent, and i expect it to easily outlast the 25-year warranty. Mine fits well in the leather case included, but i like the free belt-clip better. The only cons would be that it is fairly big and heavy, and the TTi costs [$] more than the Wave for only a couple more tools and a few extra bits. That said, i am very glad i bought it!

Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

I have carried a Leatherman tool since they came out, many years ago. I have had the PST, a Super Tool, at least 2 Waves, the new Skeletool CX is hanging on my Maxpedition bag, and the one on my belt is an original Charge Ti. BTW, I have never broken one, but I have lost a couple and given a few as gifts. NOTHING is appreciated as much as a Leatherman in Central or South America, or on the Galapagos. I am buying a new Charge TTi to keep in the box and save. Titanium is pricing itself out of the market, if you want the strongest and lightest, get it now or they will be gone.

Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

Awesome, do everything tool. I literally went from using the phillips to unscrew my hot tub access panel to using the saw to clear brush in the Cibola National Forest in New Mexico for setting up my tent in 1 week. I consider it the perfect tool. My can opener is too hard to get out so I am going to contact leatherman. I still give it a 5 because it is so useful.

Comments about Leatherman Charge Titanium TTi Multi-Tool:

As great as this tool is, it doesn't have a corkscrew for opening a bottle of wine while backpacking. I had to bring a separate tool for this. It's a little heavy too, but a well constructed tool.
