Comments about Adventure Medical Rescue Flash Signal Mirror:
The mirror reflects an amazingly bright beam of light that a search aircraft would easily spot. The hole in the middle of the mirror produces a glowing spot, this is where your mirror is reflecting the sun's light.
The only cons are that it scratches somewhat easily, either by dropping it or accidentally rubbing it against something rough, and there is no protective case included to prevent this. In order to protect it, I keep the mirror in the little plastic pocket that it comes in.
An absolutely imperative asset to any survival kit.

Comments about Adventure Medical Rescue Flash Signal Mirror:
This is a great signal mirror. It is light and small and easy to use. Like many similar mirrors, it uses a retro-reflective screen patented in 1951. In conjunction with the reflective surfaces of the front Lexan sheet, the screen projects a virtual image of the sun onto your target as you look through the screen. This means it is really easy to use under most conditions. [...]The one I got weighs 0.640 oz after pealing off the protective film. The lexan construction and small size makes it light weight for backpacking and rigid to reduce warping. If weight isn't an issue, you might want to use a bigger glass signal mirror, but remember that if you don't have it with you it won't do you any good. When not being used, the mirror can be stored in the plastic packaging it comes in, but that is relatively bulky and heavy, so you probably will want to use a small plastic bag instead. It would have been nice if they had provided a light weight plastic protector for the mirror, since the plastic surface is easily scratched.

Comments about Adventure Medical Rescue Flash Signal Mirror:
I found the mirror a little difficult to use. Instructions tell you to look through the site hole until you can focus the beam on the intended target, I was unable to match the two together.
Visual siting worked better.
