    as a base layer, patagonia's capilene cant be beat. i have two of these from about 4 yrs ago. ive put them, one in particular, through the wringer and it still stays strong. wicking power is unmatched. you can actually see drops of sweat get pulled through and bead up on the outer side of the shirt! i have heard that patagonia has changed the design in the last couple years but if its anything like the old design than they are great. patagonia always makes high quality products.

          I've used the Cap 2 Long Sleeve Zip T in a number of temperature ranges, and it has always performed well. It truly does do an amazing job of wicking moisture away, and I'm constantly blown away by how breathable the material is. For me, a combination of these and Cap 1 shirts is all you could ever ask for as far as 3 season base layers go.

            Excellent as far as retaining heat. I have been using product for over 4 years and overtime it shrinks in the wash. On my recent 6 day backpacking trip the product seemed to hold odor quite well which is a downfall but I don't know what other product doesn't do this. Very fitting and great for layering in cold weather climates.
