Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
I bought this product for hiking around in Northern New Mexico during winter and it worked perfectly with the Mountain Hardwear Monkey Man fleece jacket. Not only did it retain heat, but it provided great moisture control. Even when the weather got warmer mid-day, any accumulated sweat evaporated very quickly when I unzipped my jacket or paused momentarily.
In addition to the excellent performance, Patagonia really cut this layer nicely. I'm rather tall at 6'4", with long arms, and I had no problem comfortably fitting into a large. The large wasn't too tight, but it wasn't loose either which was a welcome feature of the layer. The seams are sown flat to eliminate pressure points, and they're strategically placed away from shoulders to avoid discomfort. Overall, this is an excellent layer and well worth the money.

Bought a couple of these specifically to wear while fishing, but have found them so comfortable and warm, but never hot, that I have found myself wearing them casually.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
When I first bought this I thought that it might be a bit bulky like a thinner fleece but this is really thin. REI usually uses large boxes for their ship items but this came in such a tiny box that I didn't know what it was...thought it maybe was a pair of socks or something. It is surprisingly warm and is put together really well. I am a bigger guy and was worried about it being clingy but it is roomy in the right way. If you are really skinny you might want to go down a size or leave the space for extra layering. Great compact item to add in the pack to ensure that you have coverage if it gets cold and it is super comfortable. I am going keep one of the level 4s in my vehicle during the winter as a just in case. After I received the level 3 I bought the zip for more of a pull over and a level 4 as well. Dries quickly as stated so that after a hike you won't be freezing all day waiting for it to dry out. One last thing is that is looks good, great item to wear around the town on a chilly night (I would get the zip for in town) or to wear out on the trail or a long patrol.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
My use of this top is almost daily. I don't rest my elbows on anything rough but this is the second one I've owned in 4 years where the elbows have worn out. As it's not made of a rip-stop fabric it opens up quickly and in multiple places.
Otherwise, I'm quite happy with it and will buy another one.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
This garment fits close to your body for warmth. The arms are a great if you're long and lean so buy on the smaller side if that is your body type. The wicking really works well even under heavy sweating. It adds some warmth but not as thick as you might gather from the name and photo. Still, since you're unlikely to wear long sleeves in warm weather, it's an ideal base or top layer in mild conditions. It fits well under other layers and is quite comfortable even under a tight pack.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
I had hoped to test the full capability of this product while in Canada on a weeklong kayaking trip. It ended up not being as cold as expected, but I still used this product (top & bottoms) as my PJ's and around camp. Product was warm and fit pretty well. I used the reviews and size charts from patagonia. Similar reviews suggested I'd need the large size for top and bottoms. Bottoms were true to size, but if you have an athletic build through the chest, shoulders and upper arms, you'll need the XL. Fit was tight, but not tight enough to return.

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
Super warm, very light weight. I carry this and the bottoms (same as my base layer, then put a soft shell on top and light weight pants on the bottom. This has kept me dry and very warm even in high winds and heavy fog.

These Patagonia 3 Crews are really a staple for any active person. You can layer it or wear it alone, or even throw it on over a T-shirt. Another great thing about Capilene is that it doesn't easily pick up odors--a big plus if you want to wear if for a week straight!

Comments about Patagonia Capilene 3 Long-Sleeve Crew - Men's:
The Capilene product keeps your temperature regulated when dry or damp conditions arise. I use my Capilene 3 for casual use as well as fall / winter marathon training. The shirt holds up well and is excellent at managing moisture.
