The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Merrell Chameleon Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots - Kids':
I bought these boots for my kindergartener last fall to replace his tennis shoes. They are his favorite shoe. He has used them primarily for every day and I am very impressed with how they have worn. Still going strong. He has gotten them wet, i.e. puddle and stream jumping and they keep his feet dry. He has however, not soaked them. Traction is good in the snow. The only downside for us, is he is not able to tie the laces yet.

Comments about Merrell Chameleon Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots - Kids':
I tried on many different boots, and these were the most comfortable. And they have continued to be comfortable as I have been wearing them.
The traction is great.
While I'm not a kid (haven't been so for many years), the largest kid size was a perfect fit for me. A much better fit than the women's boots I also tried.
I especially like how easy they are to get on and off, as opposed to the struggle some boots require.

These boots have been a great disappointment! My seven-year-old son's feet were soaked after a 15 minute walk home from school through some wet grass (not on a rainy day). Not waterproof at all! We bought these boots in early December 2009 and a mere two months later they are entirely worn out (there is a hole in the heel and the front black rubber "flap" has completely come unglued).

We bought these thinking that the kids could use them for everyday use, but at the first rain their feet became soaked - without them getting into any puddles. These are not waterproof at all. We would not buy these again.

Comments about Merrell Chameleon Mid Waterproof Hiking Boots - Kids':
I bought these boots for a hiking trip my son was going on. They have great traction, and great ankle support and they are very good with the wet stuff and he finds them more comfortable than his sneaker collection. He wears them to school in the rain or snow. They are great. The only downside is that they were pretty expensive for a young persons shoe - they are only going to fit for a few months at the most so the expense of the durability is kind of lost in this size range.

Our 7 yr old son is on his second pair of the Merrill hikers. Still going strong, lots of tread on the bottom, no breakdown of the boot! The first pair lasted for a year. We replaced them because he out grew them. They are his first choice and he wears them all the time, even in the winter. We have not experienced the water issues that others have written about. I am getting ready to purchase pair #3.
