Comments about The North Face McMurdo Winter Boots - Women's:
I love these boots! I walk my dog twice a day as well as walk dogs at the local Humane Society on weekends. I tried on many different kinds of boots and did a lot of research, but these are by far the best. They are so warm and comfortable and they look pretty stylish. I'm not used to spending this much on boots, but they are well worth the money! I've had them a year now and they look as good as new. I wear them almost everyday in winter going to and from work, walking dogs, and playing in the snow. They don't feel big and clunky at all. I really can't find anything wrong with them. [...] I would recommend these to anyone!

Comments about The North Face McMurdo Winter Boots - Women's:
These boots were a life-saver in the Arctic. The boots kept my feet warm and dry down to temperatures of -15C. I would recommend these for any type of heavy walking in the snow or even for everyday use during winter.
Service and delivery comments:
The staff at the Marlton, NJ; Denver, CO; and Englewood, CO stores were very knowledgeable and picked out the perfect items for my Arctic expedition. Attentive to my needs, one staff member pulled me away from a more expensive pair of boots and pointed me towards these -- and I am so grateful for the suggestion!

Comments about The North Face McMurdo Winter Boots - Women's:
My husband and I went on a XMAS market/festival tour of Europe last December. I hate getting cold so I bought these boots to keep my feet warm and what a job they did! My feet were never cold and/or wet. I just wore normal wool socks, did not double them up. The first day I wore them, my left heel was slightly sore but then they were broken in and had no other problems for the entire two weeks. I also have plantar fasciitis and they were comfortable, did not cause any additional problems. I received many compliments on the style of the boots. I would highly recommend these winter boots for the following reasons...warm, stylish, and comfortable. What more do you want!

Comments about The North Face McMurdo Winter Boots - Women's:
What a disappointment! I bought these boots during a huge snow storm in Portland, OR. At first the boots were awesome! My feet were so warm... actually, they have never been warmer. After walking around for a little while, the boots started digging into the back of my achilles tendon and chaffing the skin. It hurt so bad to walk. The intent of the boots is for cold, snowy days and snowshoeing adventures. Any snowshoe adventure would be completely miserable in these shoes. If you want to look cute, be warm, and not go anywhere, these boots are great. However, if you have a purpose for the boots I highly discourage the purchase... bummer! They will be returned!

Comments about The North Face McMurdo Winter Boots - Women's:
I purchased these based on the reviews listed here. When they first arrived and I put them on, they were fine. I wore them on an errand that evening. About an hour into it, I found my feet beginning to ache, building to a point of almost torture by the time I got home. When I released my tootsies from their confines, it's as if they had fallen asleep and had that terrible ache.
I tried them again a few days later, making sure they were not tightly tied and again, after an hour they had to come off.
Today I tried a third time, this time tucking the laces inside the boot and not tying them at all, but that made walking interesting and the boot feel like quite a burden on my foot.
I don't have a narrow foot, but I wouldn't say it's overly wide either. I've been wanting to buy a good pair of boots for a few years and finally did it, but am disappointed. Oh, the slippery part... the floors at my kids daycare is part tile, part carpet, part linoleum. I was exiting the building coming off the carpet and onto the tile and the boot slipped on the surface. Not at all what I expected.
Finally, the look... if your pants are tucked into the boot, they look cool. If your pants are outside the boot, it has an odd look, almost like a vintage men's two-toned shoe. I'll be seeing if REI is true to their word on taking these back as I cannot wear them. Bummer.
