Comments about REI Mountain 3 Footprint:
I ordered this footprint to go with my Mountain 3 tent. I realize it is referenced to fit under your tent but I choose to put mine on the inside to protect the interior floor on my BWCA trips. I wish it was a little larger as even if used under the tent, it would not span the entire base of the tent. It is very light weight and packable and seems to be of good construction.

Comments about REI Mountain 3 Footprint:
Preface what I'm about to say with the fact that the tent that this footprint is meant for is a 4-season, heavy-duty tent. I love the tent, and I got this footprint to both protect it, and to make it even more weatherproof. The footprint is lighter than I would expect for a 4-season tent. I used it on wet ground, and woke up to a lot of moisture condensed on the underside of my sleeping pad. It didn't really leak per se, but it did let in enough vapor to get water into the gear. I'm now having to carry a small tarp to avoid this happening again. Also, the footprint fits pretty poorly - the grommets in the footprint's straps don't really line up with any grommets in the tent straps. Make your own ground cover for this tent, and save yourself the $.

Comments about REI Mountain 3 Footprint:
This is a great addition to the REI Mountain tents. It can be used to pitch the fly without the body. This cuts the 3 person tent down to 6.5 lbs. In bad weather, the fly can be pitched before the body, keeping the inside of the tent dry.

Comments about REI Mountain 3 Footprint:
Purchased this for use w/ Mountain 3 tent. The footprint is slightly smaller than the ten floor, and the straps line up longer than the tent poles/ anchor points. This makes for a "baggy" fit with tent floor exposed on edges -- if you try to move the tent before final staking, the footprint will not move easily (falls off, catches, etc). Would like to see footprint extend into vestibule area (it does not, left with much bare ground). For [$], disappointed and it needs modification to be satisfied.
