by fromNot meant for serious hiking trips This was the second REI brand women's pack that I bought. I carry around 30-35 lbs and only go out for 3-4 days at a time. This pack ripped off the waistbelt completely mid hike. It was not repairable. I would suggest buying a more durable pack for long weekend adventures.

by fromGreat Style, Major Problems I genuinely enjoyed the way the pack looked, loaded and adjusted. The pack was however not comfortable and the first day on a 5 day backpacking trip the waist-belt started to rip. The belt is only connected to the frame on the top side, and once the rip started it was hard to stop. By the end, the rip was 2/3 of the way across and make the pack lop-sided and painful to carry. Needless to say I am returning the pack. Since I liked a lot of what the pack had to offer, I would consider purchasing it in the future if REI reinforced the belt or used a different construction.

by fromNot for me I have a tiny torso, so I had to go with a different pack because even the smallest settings didn't work for me. I had bruised collar bones after a 35-mile trip, so while the pack itself is great the fit and padding did not work for me.

by fromHolds everything Could use a few more pockets, hey, I'm a woman! It's a little on the heavy side but durable. The hip strap is bulky and inflexible. Overall works for the occasional extendted trip or backpacking through exotic countries.

by fromFits well, durable, flexible Good all round pack. Is well balanced and can carry a little or a lot...good for me because I go out for 1-10 days at a time.

by fromVery good pack This pack is an excellent value. It comes in 3 sizes and has a lot of adjustments to allow for a comfortable fit. The shoulder harness slides up and down on the frame to adjust for torso length, is secured by very heavy duty velcro, and stays in place. The only shortcoming I have found is that the outer front panel pocket is not well-designed. When the pack is full, the front pocket is pulled tight, which lowers its capacity and puts a lot of pressure on any delicate items you might have thought to store there. Otherwise, I like the design and find it works well for a wide variety of loads. If you can't fit it all in (and on) this pack, you are carrying too much stuff!

by fromvery convenient I bought this backpack for my 6-month trip to Chile to study abroad. It has served me well on my weekend and week-long excursions around the country. It's my first pack of this type, so I don't have anything to compare it to, but I am very happy with it. I like that it can be opened like a duffel as well as from the top. the side pockets are also very useful.

by fromawesome I purchased this backpack about a year ago... Used it for 2-4 day long hikes along the Maryland section of the Appalachian Trail.. It was wonderful... Tons of room.. Very easy to load.. and adjustable... The loops on the outside came in handy all the time... Then I used it for a 10 day backpacking trip in New Mexico.. and it was great there too.. I am going to be sad the day i have to replace this!
