Comments about REI Power Stretch Tights - Women's:
I've had these tights for about two years, and I pretty much wear these doing all manner of sports for three seasons out of the year here in the Pacific NW. They are perfect for fall hikes on crisp, dry days; great underneath a moisture-resistant shell layer when skiing, snowshoeing, or snowmobiling; and I wear them on my daily runs when the weather is chilly--and that's up until late April in this region.
They are really warm when cold but also seem to regulate heat pretty well--that is, they don't seem to get overly hot either, even under heavy exertion. The four-way stretch is great and I don't notice any restriction when active.
The only cons that I can think of are that for me, they give me a case of "camel toe" which is a merely cosmetic trade-off for how well this piece of clothing functions for me. The fabric is also not terribly abrasion-resistant but when I wear them on hikes, I have a pair of fast-drying nylon shorts over them for extra warmth, pockets, and protection from snagging and ripping. They also tend to attract and hold onto trail debris. Obviously, none of these issues are a problem if worn as a base layer.
I hope REI carries these tights for a long time because I consider this an indispensable and very necessary part of my active wardrobe!

Comments about REI Power Stretch Tights - Women's:
This is one of REI's best products. I live in these in the winter. I ski, run, and lounge around the house in these. I currently own 3 pairs! Staying warm in the winter is a big priority for me and these tights are my best friend. REI has made these for years and for good reason. Don't wait to buy them as they often run out early in the winter season.

These tights have been my favorite REI purchase of all time, they are the best base layer for skiing I have ever had and keep me warm at the top of Whistler/Blackcomb, running in the Seattle rain or watching my son play soccer and race cyclocross in bad weather. They wash and wear perfectly.

These are great pants. I love them for layering on a cold day climbing, hiking or skiing. They also work great by themselves for running. They are thicker and warmer than most long underwear, and have fleece lining so they are great if you get cold easily.
My only qualm is after about 2 years of hard use mine haven't held up as well as I liked. But since I love them, I will probably get another pair.

Okay, I finally broke down to buy tights. The thought always made me cringe so I've been putting it off. It also made me a very picky shopper. I want the tights to make me look like a better runner than I am, overlook some poochiness in my shape, and feel like the cat's pajamas...these tights do all that. They do a great job of wicking too. I love them and am buying an extra pair so I can live in them around the house. I love them!

Not too snug or too loose. Feels like I'm gently wrapped in a baby's blanket!

These are absolutely great in cold weather! We have been having unusual arctic weather and I just spent a couple days walking at least 5 miles a day in 11 degree weather with a 32+ mph wind(which translates to a wind chill factor of -25 degrees) and blasting snow. Wore these tights without an outer shell and my legs stayed warm and dry. They are completely comfortable so I just leave them on when I get home. Now I need to get myself another pair. They are not overly warm indoors so I'm sure I'll also be wearing them outside in our usual rain

These are life changing pants. Warm, comfortable, stylish, these pants are the first ones I grab when I get home from work. The downside: the legs twist so severly that the inside seam ends up at the outside ankle. I sent a pair to a friend and the same thing occurs with her pair.

These updated pants suck. The old style was great. These aren't as warm. The outside of the pant is now smoother and they snag very easily. I bought 4 pair online and they all fit differently. I'm a size 4, bought mediums and still some were tight through the hips. No quality control. One pair has a twisted leg and the inside seam ends up at the front of my foot. I'm returning them all to the store for a refund. I do not recommend these.

These pants are so warm. I loved them as soon as I put them on. Luckily, I'm not a total fashionista, because they are too short in the legs. I'm 5'6, but have long legs, so it's hard for me to find pants that fit, but if these had a long/tall option, I would give them 5 stars.
They move with me when running, and that's ideal. The side pocket is perfect for a house key, and id card. I will be buying another pair. I would like a different color choice. I get tired of wearing black all the time in the winter.
