The REI Member Dividend

The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.

Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.

Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about National Geographic TOPO! Outdoor Recreation Mapping Software - New Mexico:

I'm a geologist. I have used TOPO series state maps for several years. I never carry paper maps anymore unless I'm away from the vehicle and then I use maps printed from TOPO. I have a laptop with an HD large enough to hold the maps for several states and that's what I use in the field. It has never crashed. Support from Nat'l Geographic is adequate.

Comments about National Geographic TOPO! Outdoor Recreation Mapping Software - New Mexico:

This product crashes multiple times throughout a session. When the software crashes and you're about to finish a map there is no autosave so you have to redo your entire map again. A good quality program shouldn't crash! Trying to distinguish between backcountry trails and other roads, rivers, streams, etc. is very difficult making your maps hard to read. The program does have a trail highlighter but is not easy to trace tiny trails with a mouse. Also, navigating around the map is very clunky and not easy to do at all.

Comments about National Geographic TOPO! Outdoor Recreation Mapping Software - New Mexico:

I have a love/hate relationship with this software. I love what it does, but I hate the fact that it seems "half finished." The route finding features, for example, are very useful; but the interfaces are not intuitive and it seems to have been built by someone completely unfamiliar with things like the scroll wheel on a mouse. The zoom is also frustrating - you have to choose their options, there is no infinitely adjustable zoom. Aside from those annoyances, this is probably the best mapping software out there.
