          No need to ever purchase USGS TOPO maps again with this software. It includes many options like creating & printing your personalized routes, shaded relief, build profiles including mileage & elevation gained, etc. Download all CD-ROMs for seamless coverage. 3-D enhancement allows fly overs & virtual relief. Great product.

            This item is a great way to see palces you want to go and record places you have been. Linking the GPS unit was a snap. Being able to see the terrain in 3D is a nice touch.

                  Don't waste your money on this topo software. The updates that it promises are false. The National Geographic topo maps you find in the store are of far more detail than what this software has. Tons of common trails, even standard 14er routes are missing. Very disappointed in this product. You can find better topo from free sources online. The 3-D fly overs and elevation profiles are a novel addition, but do not in any way compensate for the basic information one would expect from these maps.

                      I originally gave this product a 2 I have downgraded to a 1. When I tried to use the "free downloadable maps provided by MapXchange." The site did not exist and all that I could do was buy maps for download. I am returning this product, NOT WORTH IT.

                          TOPO! Seems to lack some important Trail Data. I looks at several 14ers and notices that routes shown on guide books as trails are not on the TOPO! Maps. Noticed the same issue with some other guide books, trails shown in the guide were not on TOPO! The maps scanned for TOPO seem to be out of date.

                          I did get it to work with my Gamin E-trex Vista. It can export via GPX too so it should work with most GPS units.

                          I review the TOPO! software before I enter any unknown territory. Plan routes and enter (manually for most GPS devices) waypoints and points of interest. I have explored places I may never even thought of using this product. Post pictures and comments on saved routes. Keep track of all outdoor trips on your computer. Colorful, fun, and easy to use. Perfect for map collectors.
                          The product also helps improve map reading skills by building accurate elevation profiles on your customized routes. Well worth the money if your "high tech" like me.
