The Rapid Aero bars from Thule are a huge step in the right direction. No longer are you stuck with the rectangular bars that howl in a wind faster than 10mph. No longer do you have to mount a fairing to enjoy a quiet drive. These Aero bars are quiet!

The track running along the top of the bars has a rubber seal that is used if nothing is mounted in the track. This piece of rubber is key so don't throw it out. If the rubber seal is left out and nothing is mounted then it will whistle as you travel down the road.

The new track mounting system with these Aero bars is really slick. Adapter kits are available for most attachments to use the tracks and keep everything looking very clean. A bolt attached to a small plate runs through the track and your attachments use those bolts to mount directly to your bars... simple.

My only complaint is the end caps seem very flimsy and Thule doesn't sell replacement caps for the Aero bars. What are they thinking?

Great cross bars. Better than the square tubular bars for wind noise. - better air dynamics. Strong enough for loads rated for the Thule or Yakima car top boxes. Had the cross bars and the mounts with locks installed onto factory roof racks in about 15 to 20 minutes.
