Comments about Thule Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack - Set of 4:
I have used the bike rack several times a week and find it very easy to put the bike on and to remove it. It holds the bike very steady when driving and I do not worry about the bikes on top of the car. It was easy to install (crossbars plus 2 racks within about 2 hours)

Comments about Thule Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack - Set of 4:
We needed a rack to go on my wife's Subaru Forrester and this works perfectly on the factory roof rails. They were easy to install, and seem very secure. We used them in combo with the Aeroblade bars. They look good and work great!

Comments about Thule Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack - Set of 4:
So it took me less than 20 minutes to get everything together including locks and adding my universal pull top. The instructions are pretty straight forward too so if you can't install it properly, user problem.

Comments about Thule Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack - Set of 4:
This system was easy to install, however there were functional & fit issues with my Honda Pilot.
The Good: Easy & quick installation.
The Bad:
-The 450R Rapid Crossroad system limits the bar length that is compatible with vehicles [For my vehicle Thule recommended ONLY the 53" Aero bars] this is due to how the bars attach to the feet .
- Significant wind whistle and wind howl, at low and high speed [So significant that I returned the whole system and purchased the Yakima RailGrab system … The Yakima RailGrab system is superior in most aspects for my application].
- Feet strap/grip design does not facilitate convenient removal or forward/aft movement/adjustment once installed on factory parallel bars [Again, for my application, the Yakima RailGrab is superior in this regard].
- The 53" Aero bars (Thule recommended) would not allow the feet to be adjusted to a wide enough stance to correctly fit my Pilot's factory parallel bars (This positioned the feet on the arc portion of their base). When tightening the feet this would tend to pull my factory parallel bars inward and put undue stress on the entire system. Poor design.
- The 450R Rapid Crossroad system was a huge let down as the Aero design itself is inherently limited in new accessory compatibility and accessory backwards compatibility. These drawbacks should have been offset by a quieter, more wind friendly, experience, however this is where the system failed me the most.
Lastly, this system was more expensive then the Yakima RailGrab system I replaced it with.

Comments about Thule Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack - Set of 4:
This is the easiest rack system I have ever installed. Looks good too. The only drawback is wind noise at the junction of the footing and the aero bar. I fixed this wind whistle by placing a thin bead of clear silicone caulk at the junction of the bar-footing on the front side of the mounts. Presto about a 90% reduction in wind noise. Save your money and don't buy the fairing-it didn't reduce wind noise at all and costs about 65$ more than a tube of silicone caulk.

Comments about Thule Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack - Set of 4:
Bought these and installed them in the REI parking lot within 20 minutes on my Audi A4 Avant. Super easy to install with no tools (save some scissors to trim the rubber). Now that I know how it works, I'd guess at most 10 minutes to get them off my car. The wind noise is minimal enough that I don't need a fairing (plus it would have interfered with my sun roof). The cost of the fairing was pushed into the incremental cost of getting the Aero bars and mounts.
The downside is adapters for legacy mounts. I borrowed my friend's ski carrier, and that required to get a slightly pricey adapter to get it mounted. Once I buy my own pieces, I'm sure things will be a breeze.

Comments about Thule Rapid Crossroad Railing Foot Pack - Set of 4:
Product installs very easily and is very secure. I am getting some wind noise from the aero cross bar, but not when my cargo box is installed. I planned to leave this on the car all the time, but it's so easy to install that I plan to keep the cross bars off when not in use. (though they look cool!) You may not have the noise I get on my X5 when the bar is installed...that can be very car dependent. It took me a couple of times to properly fit the locking end caps on the foot pack. After a couple tries, I got the hang of it, and it's fit better since that first try.
