Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
These are all around great shoes. I was going to get less expensive shoes, but once I tried these on there was no way I was going to get anything less than these! Great shoes, definitely worth the extra dough.

Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
These are a great pair of shoes. The straps make them easy to get off and on, and the heel rand is the best one can get. Apart from the heel rand and the stiff midsole, these shoes are much like the less expensive evolv defy. These shoes are stiffer, allowing you to put more weight on your toe, but some comfort when walking is sacrificed (not that you should be able to walk in a climbing shoe). Sizing wise, I went down 1 size from my street shoe (11), and they fit quite well. If i were to buy them again, I would probably go a size and a half down and endure the initial pain of the shoe to have a better eventual fit. These shoes will stretch, but nowhere as much as a leather shoe. Their stretch will mostly be in the width, so don't worry about some initial toe squeezing. Overall, a responsive, well performing rock shoe.

Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
I love this thing the place where I climb has this massive route where you have to heel hook quite a few times to reach the top, and there extremley sweet heel did the trick.
The rubber was very nice it was able to support a 210 pound stocky guy (me) while smearing and doing a great job keeping me steady. It is a good shoe I i wear an 11 1/2 street and wear a 10 in this shoe in order to get the fit I wanted but other than that it was a solid fit.
The one thing I didnt like was that it wasn't as ajustable as the lace ups, but when you get a foot cramp those velcro straps are a godsend. the other thing that I didn't like was that they did get a teeny bit smelly. However, my friend and I had created a shoe softener/anti-microbial/deoderizer/shoe preserver so the smell was gone and the shoe fit better and was a little bit more comfy if it wasn't comfy enough already. This is a great shoe definitley worth it.

I have been using evolve for a long time. So my expectations from the shoe were clear. I knew what size to get and what model to get because i was using the same one before.

Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
Great Shoe. Stays together and hasn't worn out yet. I prefer the evo if your going evolv because of its price and all together versatility. It has a great hook that really helps on small foot holds. there light weight and easy to get on and off. I haven't had a problem yet. I got an 8.5 which is a size smaller. They are still snug months later, but haven't been pinching at all.

Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
The shoes themselves are great. I love the heels and the easy escape with velcro closures. A word about sizing: don't listen to those who say buy small! These shoes are synthetic and will not stretch like leather ones. If you toes are really cramped they will remain really cramped! Also, REI doesn't sell split sizes. For ~$30 more you can buy split sizes from the manufacturer directly.

Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
These were my second pair of rock shoes. I love the fit (almost no stretch, by the way) and the sticky rubber, but the synthetic leather- it just smelled horrible after 2 weeks of use. I can't keep them in the house anymore. I think the real problem is that they breathe like, well, plastic.

Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
These shoes are great. They make heel and toe hooks much easier. I appreciate the curve and tension of the sole, stickiness of the rubber, and the velcro straps-- all in all, very good for bouldering. I would recommend this shoe to women as well as men.

I really like these shoes. I've had them since last summer and they have held up great. A million times better than the Madrock Pheonix that I had before. Great heel and toe control.

Comments about evolv Evo Rock Shoes:
I got these to replace my trusty worn out Defy's. I wear a 10 but got a 9.5. It's tight but worth the pain. These toe and heel hook great in the gym. So far they are wearing well and getting me all over the overhang routes. For a shoe around the $100 range they are not bad at all. Are there better shoes out there? Shure, but for the price the Evo is worth checking out.
