Comments about Wilderness Systems Tsunami 140 Kayak with Rudder:

Our twelfth boat. For a plastic boat, it is reasonably light and fairly rigid. Priced significantly less than firmer boats, it is stable craft with ample storage volume for multi-day paddles. It handles well, but may not be suitable for beginners. It can carve a turn adequately when empty, but when loaded, it can up-end you if you push it towards it's limits. The hatches are very tight to the point that we don't bother with bags in the hatches on this boat at all. The boat rides high in the water when empty, which causes it to catch a bit of a crosswind. When full, she rides straight even in a stiff cross-breeze. The seat is ample for a big guy, and just a bit too ample for a small gal.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Tsunami 140 Kayak with Rudder:

This was my first kayak and I couldn't have picked a better one. Plenty of storage for my camera's in the back and even more up front. I love the easy access hatch that allows me to pull out my camera without tipping. Already taken it to Catalina Island, Santa Cruz Island, down the Colorado through Topock Gorge and to various local lakes. Super stable. Never tipped. Tracks great and is amazingly comfortable. Holds plenty of gear for camping and such.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Tsunami 140 Kayak with Rudder:

Bought this after sitting in many kayaks at Canoecopia. Talked to all reps and when talking to Wilderness Systems told him I wanted a kayak I could use on small lakes and camp but yet kayak the Great Lakes. He told me to hang on and went back and grabbed a catalog and told me the kayaker on the cover was him on the Northwest coast kayaking breakers off the coast. (I checked later and it was him.) The kayak he was in was the Tsunami 140 and it could definitely handle most Great Lakes weather. I bought it!

Comments about Wilderness Systems Tsunami 140 Kayak with Rudder:

My first Kayak. Bought it in June & used it a lot last summer - day trips only. Very comfortable for all day paddling. Really like that adjustable seat & the knee braces give extra comfort/stability. Didn't think I'd like/use the rudder but it has come in handy many times in choppy water. Tried a lot of kayaks before buying this. It's a bit large for 1 person to put on the car by yourself but easy w/a helper (I'm a petite 5'3").
