Comments about Chariot Carriers Jogging Brake Kit 2.0 - 2006 and newer:
We bought the Chariot Cougar 2 chassis (instead of the CX2) and installed this jogging brake as an add-on, which is a less-expensive set-up on the whole. The parking-brake function of the brake simply does not work. The brake pressure is too light to stop the carrier from rolling. I don't care about that though. The jogging brake itself does work, but its low quality is on par with the brakes on a kids bike[...] or something. I do 90 percent of the work on my own bikes, and I found this brake hard to install and hard to adjust properly--so that the brake pads are close enough to the rim to enable hard enough braking to stop the wheel and yet far enough from the rim to avoid rubbing the rim due to minor wheel wobble. Admittedly, the wheel itself can be trued better, but I think the pads are still going to rub unless I back them off. Unless Chariot starts making a quality add-on straight-pull brake, a better option would be to buy the CX2 chassis, which apparently has built-in drum brakes. It would be more expensive set-up, but a lot less annoying.
