Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
After 12 years on mixed stuff on my Charlet Mosers, got these for a Himalaya climb in India (Gangstang) and used them with great results on the west face where we had everything, rock, ice, deep snow and thin ice on rock and they worked perfect.

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
Used on Mt. Baden-Powell in So. Cal in a mix of solid frozen snow/ice/2' deep powder/slush,
These worked great.Put them on at beginning of hike and did NOT need to adjust them even 1 time!
The anti-balling device works perfectly(no snow balls under your feet!)
Total of about 6-7 miles of rough hiking, with NO adjustments, worked great and they saved my butt more than a few times......cant wait to use them again.
Bought a pair for my son as well!

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
These are the best crampons I have ever owned. They are extremely easy to put on and adjust, and grip very well. I most recently used them on Mount Elbrus and they made the climb to the summit a breeze.

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
The crampon points are just right for a variety of alpine routes. The New-Matic system makes the crampons easy to put on. It is a good combination of the step-in and strap-on systems. Even with heavy gloves, they are simple to put on. The crampons are very well-made...just what one expects from Grivel.
Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
I agree with some of the other reviewers - this is a good all-around crampon. I've climbed the Kautz route on Rainier, clawed along M3+ routes, climbed a lot of WI4 and short bits of WI5 with these crampons. It's true that there are more technical crampons out there for vertical ice, these do pretty good & they used to be the standard before all the extra fancy stuff came out.

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
Bought a well-used pair, but after a bit of Dremel work they're good to go once again. This is one advantage over lighter aluminum crampons; better wear resistance. 12-point design works well for general glacier and snow-slope travel. Very easy to adjust out in the field. For those not certain if they need crampons but are looking to do alpine climbing on snow & ice: trust me, crampons make life much easier, not harder! I didn't even notice the extra weight on my feet.

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
I have used several different hybris and these are the best so far. the bot plates should be standard on every crampon ever made and is a lifesaving device. The tooth design is efficient and rarely snags. the only complaint I have is that it is a little heavy, but really, thats just the way it goes with steel. make sure to get a point cover or crampon bag with it casue these will tear up your gear when packed up.

Comments about Grivel G-12 New-Matic Crampons with Antibott Device:
absolutely amazing. these are the gold standard for "do it all" crampons. there are definately better technical WI crampons out there but if your looking for a crampon to do everything, especially if you thrive on alpine routes, these are the ticket. very reliable
