The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about OnGuard Terrier Combo Cable Lock - 6mm:
A year ago I purchased a new bike from REI for the purpose of riding to and from work every day. Of course I wanted to protect my investment, so I asked for recommendations on locks. I was told that u-locks were good but probably too heavy for my regular ride.
Instead the staff member recommended the Terrier because it's light and easy to use. Granted, for the year or so that I used it I did find the lock light and easy to use; however, in the end the lock proved weak and useless! I left my bike in a highly trafficked area between 2 hospitals and 3 university buildings and still someone managed to come and cut the lock like it was butter. Without any trouble someone rode off with my bike.
Never buy this product unless you absolutely want your bike stolen.

Comments about OnGuard Terrier Combo Cable Lock - 6mm:
I certainly wouldn't use this lock for parking my bike at work all day or for overnight use, but I carry it on my bike for short stops on rides, like restroom breaks or convenience store stops. I leave a heavy-duty U-lock at work, and keep my bike inside my home at night, and keep this lightweight lock on hand to fend off opportunistic thieves. Very thin, very light, easy to set the combo, but I wouldn't leave my bike for more than a few minutes with it - but that's what I bought it for.

Comments about OnGuard Terrier Combo Cable Lock - 6mm:
It's lightweight and easy to pack in a small space. It's incredibly flexible so you can wind it around as required. It has the set-it-yourself combination lock built in. It's the perfect lock for what I intended its use to be. It will NOT, however, stop a determined thief with much of a tool. But its mere presence, like a yappy little terrier in your home, should induce the bad guy to go elsewhere in search of easier pickings.

Comments about OnGuard Terrier Combo Cable Lock - 6mm:
I got this lock so that I wouldn't have to carry one of those heavy things when biking. It works perfectly for this.
It is a little skinny, so I wouldn't use it to lock your bike up overnight. It would be nice if it was a little longer so that I could lock up both wheels but then I guess that would negate the lightness benefit.

I like that it is not coiled so that fits into the seat bag easily. Easy to use combo system. Strong for it's size.

Comments about OnGuard Terrier Combo Cable Lock - 6mm:
I used this to lock my bike at my work near a very public door. I had been using it a few months before it got cut (and by the looks of it, very easily) and my bike was stolen. I would recommend getting a stronger lock if you are going to leave your bike unattended.

Comments about OnGuard Terrier Combo Cable Lock - 6mm:
If you really want your bike stolen, use this lock. My bike was locked up outside of a library for only a few hours in the middle of the day. When I came out, my bike was gone. Although it is lightweight and easy to use, but what use is that when your bike is gone?

Comments about OnGuard Terrier Combo Cable Lock - 6mm:
DO NOT BUY. This lock looked ideal for casual theft deterrant, but within about 5 min I figured out a way to open this lock with my eyes closed within about 10 seconds. It is completely unsecure and if I can figure out how to hack it that fast, with no special lock hacking experience, so can others. You may as well not lock up your bike at all if you are using this lock. I will be returning this asap.

My son can put the lock behind his back and rotate the combo until it opens. Takes about 14 seconds.
