        OK, so the preceding review was based on straps I had gotten 10 years ago. The new straps have a clear area at the tip which means that they have achieved perfection. So - 5 stars.

            Comments about REI Sport Wrap with Buckle - 24-inch:

            Indispensible. Got a bicycle seat pack that bounces and jiggles? - cinch it down with this baby. Got a tripod or rod case to attach to the pack? - this strap will secure it. Home, trail or road this strap can put amazing pressure wherever you need it and holds securely. The only reason I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars is the velcro holds so securely that it is difficult to peel the lead end away when it is fastened. - A little tape or even shave the first 1/2" takes care of that problem but hey - if it was perfect you wouldn't have to do that. The 18" version seems to be used the most. This is my contribution to reviewing some of the minor, un-exotic and non-sexy items which everybody needs and uses but no one comments upon.

            Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend
