The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
Takes a little bit of time to install correctly (two brackets must be bent to match your exact frame geometry, and they should be bent identically) but this is true of most bike racks. Once installed, it's a perfect fit with my rear disk brakes. There's a rear tab for mounting a European style tail light (2 bolts w/30 mm or 50 mm spacing), and those tail lights are not generally available in U.S. stores but can be found on the Internet; American style lights can also be mounted with a little creativity (cable ties, duct tape). Overall, an excellent product, especially when paired with an instantly-mountable Topeak luggage bag (just slide it in and click it into place).

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I first had a seatpost-mounted Topeak Beam Rack EX due to owning a full-suspension bike, and later transferred it to my current hardtail, but got tired of it swaying and having to readjust it. Though this more conventional rack doesn't have the sleek lines of a beam rack, it certainly seems much stronger, and of course won't sway.
I have Topeak's largest trunkbag on it, the DXP with expandable panniers, and so I had to have a sturdy and immobile frame with something to hold the panniers steady, and this does the job wonderfully.
The rack does block some--but not all--mud/water from getting my back and the bag, but I'd say the last five inches of the rear tire is still exposed, so expect just a little mud/water on you and your cargo. As far as I know, there's no rear fender to tack onto the rack, as there is with the beam racks.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I had to bend the brackets into a steep arch to fit my Marin Muirwoods, but it was easy to install and is on solid. I have a Planet Bike Super Flash tail light that I had been attaching to a strap on the MTX bag, but it bounces on the end of the rack and makes quite a racket. I bought a Rear Rack Bracket from Planet Bike (part #3108) and it fits the two vertical holes on the bracket on the back. Works great, but with the light attached there may not be enough room for a fender[...]

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
Good stable rack. Works great with disc brakes. Installation was on par with other racks. Only problem I have, like others have said, the black paint comes off extremely easy. My panniers have plastic hooks on them and after taking them off for the first time there where already scratches on it.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I can be a bit of an idiot, but this bike rack has been forgiving. The finish has worn, but the rack is still solid, there isn't any corrosion (I live/bike by the ocean.) After a year it's about as solid as the day I bought it.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I bought this rack to use on my disc equipped MTB for commuting. Works great at getting around brakes and allowing room to adjust brakes as needed. I also had a road bike I wanted to use for commuting. My old rack would not get around the bulging welds at the rear dropout. I tired this rack on the road bike and it works great. I bought another rack to have one on both bikes.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
This is a great rack that does the job, easy to install and so easy to use with the matching slide-in Topeak packs.
Like others have already commented though, the paint comes of really easily. After being leant against an interior wall only once, I have a silver line up the side of one of the struts. Luckily my bike is black and silver so it blends in :)

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I've been using the rack for about 6 mo., and it has definitely paid for itself in all the bus fare I'm saving. I've hauled heavy bags of laundry tacked on with on with bungee cords and heavy groceries. It works great with the Topeak bag I purchased which slides on easily, and I would highly recommend it to anyone that needs to run errands on his/her bike.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
This rack will fit any bike, especially those with disc brakes. Note that the brackets will only fit the seat-stays with pre-drilled holes. Otherwise you will need to fashion a bracket to accept the rack's arms. Other than that, this is a sturdy and well built rack. It's also nice that the slip on trunks attach securely on top.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I got the rack just as I was getting the bike attached to the trainer stand and have not been outdoors with it as yet.
