The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I got the rack just as I was getting the bike attached to the trainer stand and have not been outdoors with it as yet.
Service and delivery comments:
This was picked up in store.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
This is a great rack that does the job, easy to install and so easy to use with the matching slide-in Topeak packs.
Like others have already commented though, the paint comes of really easily. After being leant against an interior wall only once, I have a silver line up the side of one of the struts. Luckily my bike is black and silver so it blends in :)

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I recently went on a 600 mile bike tour and bought this rack before leaving. Within 2 days both bolts had broke off, so i had to take bolts off of my water bottle holder to replace them.
2 days later same thing happened again. Now i was out of bolts so i used zip-ties to hold my bike rack fixed. Now i have two broken bolts stuck on my bike.
They are broken so close to the edge that i can't even take them off with pliers.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I've bought two of these racks so far, one for me and one for my wife. I've used to it to carry various items, and currently have attached a set of panniers. I am really satisfied with the quality and finish of the rack. It is easy to install and remove.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
This rack system is awesome. I had it mounted by REI, due to the negative comments on how difficult it could be, they didnt even charge me an installation fee and it was done on the spot. I ride a Novarra Aspen mountain bike with disk brakes and needed the topeak system for when commuting to work. I was concerned it would limit me on the trail but when riding the single track without the bag attatched you dont even know the rack is there. I highly recommend this system for anyone looking to hall gear to and from work or on long recreational rides.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I commute to work 5 days a week, 10 miles each way. I haul a change of clothes, laptop, repair tools/parts, and my lunch all on this rack and it's showing no sign of weakness. My previous (and more expensive) rack broke less than a year after I got it from the daily grind of 25-30 pounds, rough roads, and no shocks. This rack has held up beautifully. I have no doubt it can handle much more load than I put on it.
My panniers are quick release so they have a little play in them allowing them to rub the black paint off the rack in a couple spots, but there's no sign of corrosion or flaking. I can't imagine a rack having paint that wouldn't come off with that much rubbing though.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I had to bend the brackets into a steep arch to fit my Marin Muirwoods, but it was easy to install and is on solid. I have a Planet Bike Super Flash tail light that I had been attaching to a strap on the MTX bag, but it bounces on the end of the rack and makes quite a racket. I bought a Rear Rack Bracket from Planet Bike (part #3108) and it fits the two vertical holes on the bracket on the back. Works great, but with the light attached there may not be enough room for a fender[...]

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
Pretty easy to install. Horizontal stays pretty easy to bend to adapt to my bike. Fit easily over disk brake on my Novara Bonanza. Finish seems to be holding up so far.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
I can be a bit of an idiot, but this bike rack has been forgiving. The finish has worn, but the rack is still solid, there isn't any corrosion (I live/bike by the ocean.) After a year it's about as solid as the day I bought it.

Comments about Topeak Explorer MTX Tubular Rack with Disc Mounts:
Good stable rack. Works great with disc brakes. Installation was on par with other racks. Only problem I have, like others have said, the black paint comes off extremely easy. My panniers have plastic hooks on them and after taking them off for the first time there where already scratches on it.
