The Triple Tough Explorer 16 canoe offers great stability in rough conditions, tracks well and handles well even when loaded with gear.

  • Durable, carefree Triple Tough polyethylene construction will easily handle the stresses of family paddling
  • Advanced molding techniques put more material in the high impact areas and less in the low impact areas, resulting in a lighter and stiffer hull
  • Features nearly identical lines to the classic Royalex edition; although it weighs 7 pounds more, it is easier to maintain
  • Symmetrical, shallow-V hull offers excellent tracking on flat water and stability on moving water and waves
  • High-volume hull with gently rockered ends provides maneuverability in fast currents
  • Versatile design will handle family as well as wilderness journeys
  • Features ash-framed webbed seats with truss for added rigidity, and sculpted ash portage yoke for a comfortable carrying alternative
  • Full length aluminum inserts in vinyl gunwales for added torsional rigidity; molded carry handles at bow and stern decks aid in transport

I paddled a canoe once or twice before buying this one and my wife had never paddled one before. We are doing great with it and I don't have anything bad to say about the boat itself.....good tracking, stability, and versatility. We have taken it mainly on rivers with class I-II rapids. The only issue would be the price tag but luckily I purchased mine [$] off as a "cosmetic seconds" boat that looked brand new to me with only a few scratches.

    Solid and durable. The finish has a few burs on the bottom but those get lost after going over rocks and through sand.
