Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
In street shoes I wear an women's 8. For these boots I wear a women's 9. These shoes are great. There was no need for breaking the shoes in which is very nice. The mesh along the side is fantastic and my feet never get too hot. If submerged in water they dry rather quickly and hold up nicely in river crossings, snow, and wet weather. Very comfortable hiking boots.

Buying my second pair of these boots. Wore out my first pair after hiking in them for almost 3 years throughout South America (Inca Trail and Patagonia), Africa (climbed Kilimanjaro) and the Canadian Rockies. These are the best boots I've ever worn: comfortable, absolutely no break-in required, lightweight, waterproof and low-profile compared to other heavy-duty boots that are as rugged and reliable as these. I pray Vasque never stops making them because I love them so much!

Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
Buying my third pair (as a backup for when my 2nd wear out.) Long life, but I put on hundreds of miles yearly. I wear them as my daily shoes - our property is rocky with uneven terrain. Great ankle support for dogs walks in National Forest, comfortable enough to drive into town & walk around on cement. Wore for 3.5 weeks backpacking in New Zealand & 4 weeks for a Wilderness EMT course in Yosemite. Even wore with a skirt to a New Year's Party (at size 11 it takes a wedding or funeral to get me in dress shoes). Love 'em!

Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
I have about 80 miles on these boots now and they have felt comfortable and performed very well since mile one. No break-in required. As one reviewer mentioned, they are ugly. But they look better with trail dust! They are classed as light hiking, but I've gone on four short backpacking trips with them and have been totally happy. For a longer trip I might want something with more support. I bought a wide size, which is wide only in the toe box, not all over. That works great for me. For the price and class, you can't go wrong with these comfortable boots.

Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
Loved this shoe...bad feet..club and flat!!! This shoe allowed me to walk much further than normal with much less pain. Bought these for a trip to Peru last year. No problems..didn't need to break them in at all!! The only major con is the hooks at the top of the boot where you loop the shoestring around rips out all of the hems in my slacks except for jeans. I read the reviews and it seems noone else had this problem, but I don't sew and it costs a small fortune to repair slacks all the time. Looking at the shoe version for my trip this year. I hope the support is there.

Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
My pair of these boots weren't waterproof at all. I ended up with soaking wet feet on a camping / hiking trip. Everyone else who's reviewed these boots seems really pleased with them, so I'm not sure how I ended up with a leaky pair. Maybe I got a defective pair but it seems odd that both would leak even though I only stepped in very shallow puddles -- nothing that could have leaked in at the ankles. They're really light and comfortable but I would recommend testing them at home before taking them for a hike. Back to the store they go!

Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
After reading reviews about not needing to break these boots in, I was skeptical, especially after having a terrible experience (big, bad blisters) when not taking the time to do so with another maker. However, in packing for our Yellowstone/Grand Teton adventure, I completely forgot about my strategy until the last day prior to departure. After only wearing these boots for a period of three hours--around the house--we set out on our first hike in Yellowstone NP: Mt. Washburn. In my excitement, I completely forgot about not appropriately breaking in my new boots. And it wasn't until the day was over when I realized what a great pair of boots I was wearing. Not one hot spot, plus my feet felt stable and were completely dry despite treks through the snow. I would definitely purchase these boots again!

Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
These boots are functional as all get-out, nice and waterproof and all that. My biggest quibble with the design is that, for those of us with narrow feet and probably for many of the rest of you, the laces when tied will pull the sides so close together over the tongue that they almost touch -- not such a good thing. I won't buy another pair, but they may be just dandy for others (with higher-arched or wider feet ?).

I am purchasing my 3rd pair today. These boots run narrow but this is a bonus for me b/c I have a narrow foot and have a hard time finding narrow hiking boots. I have used my second pair for hiking 7 of the California fourteeners, hiking in New Zealand and Ecuador. You will get the milage for the money with the boots.

Comments about Vasque Mica II GTX Hiking Boots - Women's:
These boots are great for day hikes and camping trips. They fit well (I have very narrow feet) and don't slide around. I've walked through puddles and my feet stayed dry, though I haven't tried immersing them in water. They are warm, too. They stay comfortable as long as I'm walking, but my feet start to hurt if I wear them for long periods of time while not doing anything, i.e. riding in a car. I've had them for a year and they still look great and are not falling apart anywhere.
