Comments about Wilderness Systems Tsunami 125 Kayak:

This is my first kayak and I have no regrets with my choice. I use it mainly on lakes but on its first river trip it performed admirely.
It's a little heavy to load on the roof rack alone but after looking at some Dura-lites and talking with owners I'll take the durability.
Wilderness Systems seats are the best.

Comments about Wilderness Systems Tsunami 125 Kayak:

My 2nd boat, replaced a 10' Prodigy so I didn't have the speed or maneuverability of this boat. I generally do 6 to 8 hour trips and even with an old man's back I am always comfortable (5'8"/215). With the 2 hatches, room behind the seat and in front of the foot pegs and all the deck rigging I easily carry a weekends worth of gear and frankly there's room for the extras needed for a week long trip. I'm a flat water (Jersey Pine Barren mostly) paddler. Empty this boat gets up and over fallen trees and has leg room to let me get down to near deck level to get under trees. It reacts well and gets great mileage (not to mention the sun/moon roof which comes as standard equipment.) My next boat will only be bought to shed some weight as the 54 lbs (empty) is getting heavier as I get older. ...db

Comments about Wilderness Systems Tsunami 125 Kayak:

Actually, REI has it wrong. The 120 is for smaller paddlers. The 125 has a higher cockpit combing for LARGER paddlers. Great tracking AND turning! (not a common attribute)Rock solid stability makes open water re-entry a breeze. (again, not common in a 12 footer) Very good seat. This is one of the few 12 footers I can get my long legs into and still get my feet on the braces. It actually paddles much better than the 145! which I was not impressed with at all (back to the drawing board on that one, Wilderness) This is a good creek/lake/river boat where making tight turns is a must. A LOT of boat for the money, and I own a very fancy British-style rig as well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this to a beginner for everything (no whitewater)or a more advanced paddler looking for a maneuverable creek-touring boat. (Perfect for California's small Coast Range creeks and rivers). And with Wilderness Systems you know you are getting a quality boat, unlike some other brand-names that used to be quality boats but aren't anymore. I love it, if you need a short boat, this is it! If you are a smaller person, check out the 120, not the 125. It will fit you much better.
