Comments about MSR Cloudliner Hydration Reservoir - 2 Liter:

I'm an avid hiker and I buy quality gear. This reservoir seemed to fit that in the beginning. I've used it for less than a year and both that I bought are rendered useless. The hose's lining kinks when you try to insert it in to the reservoir or the mouth peace, resulting in poor seal and water blockage. I won't use it in that form since there's a high risk of it leaking in the backpack. Now I have to buy another reservoir... what a waste of $$$

Comments about MSR Cloudliner Hydration Reservoir - 2 Liter:

I bought this for both my REI Flash UL and REI UL 45 day packs. Fits both packs well but can take time adjusting to get a good fit. Not as integrated as a built in hydration pack. The wide mouth makes it easy to fill and clean while camping. Lighter then using a lexan water bottle.

          Terrible
I had nothing but problems with the hose on this. It kinked terribly rendering it almost useless. My daughter uses a CamelBak and it works flawlessly.

Comments about MSR Cloudliner Hydration Reservoir - 2 Liter:

This bladder was great until I made the mistake of taking the bite valve off to clean it. The reservoir works good, is lightweight, and seems fairly durable. The hose connection to the reservoir is a way better design than my previous MSR bladders where the hose screwed into the fill cap (always seemed to come unscrewed in my pack and spill out all my water). I also liked the new bite valve design, it let a lot of water flow. The problem with this system is the hose itself has a liner of some sort inside it. If you pull the bite valve off or disconnect the hose from the reservoir then try to reinsert either one, the liner wrinkles up inside the hose and blocks the water flow. I was able to get it to work the first couple of times but now I can't seem to get the bite valve inserted in the hose without clogging the flow with that liner. I purchased mine over a year ago, so MSR could very well have changed the design of the hose since then. If so, this would be a great lightweight bladder system. If not, I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.

Comments about MSR Cloudliner Hydration Reservoir - 2 Liter:

The tube has a sticky inner lining that kinks and when you take it apart to clean it, it is impossible to put back together.

MSR should be ashamed of themselves for trying to pass this off as a functional product.

I am going on a hiking trip and with this part of my pack unrepairable, I have nothing to attach my MSR filtration system up to.

Comments about MSR Cloudliner Hydration Reservoir - 2 Liter:

Very nice product, MSR makes quality stuff. I spend usually 7-9 days backpacking in Colorado wilderness with approximately 35lbs on my back, hunting mule deer. The weight of the bladder, when full, was perfect for long day treks! If it ever wears out, I would replace it with the same model if available.

Bite valve design is not the best

Comments about MSR Cloudliner Hydration Reservoir - 2 Liter:

Unlike many climbers, I am a big fan of bladders. I've used the Ultimate Direction, platypus and the Nalgene products. The bite valves were ok, but they usually leaked after a few months use. I tried the MSR since I use their water filter and I like the direct hook-up between the two.
The bite valve on the cloudliner has a very short biting area near the tip of the hose. I'd bite the end and it would slip out of my mouth. I'll be looking to trade the unit in or see if a Camelbak valve might be an better design or find a new Nalgene valve.
