Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 Tent:
I used this tent on a 20 mile/day backpacking trip. It's extremely lightweight on it's own and very easy to set up. However I only took 2 stakes(for the vestibule)and a footprint(floor seems delicate). My only complaint is the condensation under both the fly and the footprint. IT never dripped down to me but it was annoying to dry both in the mornings. We were in a very humid east texas forest during 50high/30low days in december. My local REI was out of the 2man tent but this 3man was still much lighter than all the other types of 2man tents. I loved the extra room and will keep this tent. I do wish the footprint extended to the vestibule area as well

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 Tent:
This is a great tent for 2 hikers and their gear. It is incredibly light and is insanely easy to set up. I don't think I will ever buy a tent that has pole sleeves again after using this tent. The tent poles pack up slightly bulky, but that is because they are nearly all connected in a hub pole set up. The ease of use definately makes up for the added bulk. Also, if you try to fit 3 adults in this tent, you will be sorry. You will be spooning each other all night. (I didn't mind so much considering that it is lighter than most 2 man tents anyway.)
Other things to consider...this is a minimalist shelter, so there are some sacrifices to consider. The fabric for the floor and fly are very thin, so I have always used it with the footprint. The same goes for the netting. Baby it all. I have used mine a handful of times and have had no problems, but don't lend it the the scouts or clumsy friends. It wouldn't take much to tear that netting. Second is that you forego some of the niceties such as two door/vestibule design, full size zipper on the fly and greater interior volumes created by bridge pole systems. If these things don't bother you than buy it right now and you will love it. If they do bother you, go for the MSR Hubba series and you will get most of them along with a slightly heavier pack.
The four stars is because this is rated as a 3 man tent when it is only usable as a 2 man, as well as I consider the materials are borderline too lightweight for heavy use.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 Tent:
I've used this mostly for dragging my kids (ages 8 and 15) out on the Colorado Trail. Nice and light, easy to set up and plenty of room for the three of us. I don't think I'd use it with 3 adults, but (as others have said) - plenty roomy for 2 adults and gear or dog.I've used it with the fly and footprint option as well. I loved it, but my squirmy son kept sliding out the sides...BTW - I scored this at a[...] sale at a much more reasonable price.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 Tent:
The Seedhouse SL 3 is a high quality and very light tent. Packability is superb. I've used this tent backpackting on the AT with my two daughters (12 and 9). There is sufficient sleeping space for us; but three adults would be tight. We've experienced light wind and rain with no leaks or stability problems. Set up is quick and easy. You can not store multiple backpacks in the small vestibule. In fact, the one-door design makes it difficult to store one backpack there. MSRP is high; look for it on sale.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 Tent:
Super light tent but very poorly designed fly and door opening. Every time you open the vestibule door rain will leak right into the tent and soak anything in the front of the doorway. A brow pole would have been an easy, cheap and light weight solution. The vestibule is very tiny and is a boots only deal. Also, the Seedhouse sl 3 is only a 2 person tent (36 square feet does not translate to 3 REAL people). I hate it when gear companies lie abot specs in order to sell products and that is exactly what Big Agnes has done with this tent. Way over priced, too !

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 Tent:
I purchased the Seedhouse SL3 because its light weight and small pack size were great for a 3-person tent. It has enough room for two adults and a large dog. The tent sets up very easily with clips instead of sleeves for the poles. I can easily set it up by myself.
I love how small this thing gets in its stuff sack. As the sole tent carrier, I appreciate the extra room in my bag as well as the reduced weight over my old tent. The poles, however, are a little bulky due to the way they fold up with that hub system.
I found that the mesh goes very far down all around the tent, while the rain fly doesn't go down quite far enough. If you actually guy the fly out, you can end up with a cool breeze in your face (which may or may not be desirable). Along with that breeze can come dirt, and I've ended up with dirt blowing in on occasion. Typically I end up staking the fly straight down next to the tent.
If you don't get the front of the tent staked out well, the door is kind of a pain to open. That's somewhat to be expected, but it seems worse in this tent than others I've had. The velcro on the vestibule always seems to be in the way when you're trying to unzip.
I like this tent, but I think it could use some refinements.

Comments about Big Agnes Seedhouse SL 3 Tent:
This tent is truly amazing, showing the miracle of modern materials. It is extremely light, plenty of room for a big man and his partner, and almost assembles itself. Be careful in a high wind, as it can blow away if not fastened down. Would buy it again in an instant. Saves 2 pounds over our old tent, not insignificant if you are packing any distance.

Lightest and roomiest tent I could find for 2 people and a medium size dog. You can go light and still be comfortable.
