Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I am a lineman and I work in out of town locations like Palomar mountian, I use thees boots to hike to very remote locations hauling all kinds of gear and equipment to the job site,Some rope repelling is nessacary to get to some poles. Then when I get to the pole, I use them with climbing gaffs to climb the poles, they are awsome. The climbing boots like wescos and whites are made for climbing poles but not hiking with the La Sportiva I can just put them on in the morning and work all day / night with them on no problem.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I bought these boots for mountaineering and heavy hiking. I wore them while climbing several volcanoes in Mexico and Guatemala ranging from 13,000 - 18,400 feet. Overall they performed very well once I switched the stock insoles to superfeet. I highly recommend these boots if you want one pair of good versatile boots. They would not be adequate for steep glaciers as they only have a half-shank, but were fine kicking steps up moderate slopes. I wouldn't wear these boots on anything higher or colder than the peaks I climbed as my feet did get cold. Comfortable enough for rocky approaches and long days!

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I've used these boots for two years climbing, hunting sheep and hiking throughout Alaska. These boots have been warm, dry, and peform well on steep slopes, deep snow, and on flat or rolling terrain while hiking. If you're looking for a fairly light weight mountain boot that holds up well to abuse look no further. All my buddies have bought these and are glad they did.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I have a pair of these and they are by far the most comfortable boot I have ever owned. I use these boots literally everyday for Firefighting in the Wildland, and they have yet to let me down. They have been in a variety of locations from California to Florida on fires. These blow whites or Nicks out of the water. My department makes us wear black boots, so I just dye them. Its worth it

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
As a professional guide, I have been overall very pleased with these boots. I have owned a pair for over three years and they're still in great shape. My only major issue is that they seem to have shrunk a half - full size, causing my toes to get pinched and smashed, mostly on descents, by the end of the day. Very painful at times. They have been through every imaginable environment and conditions, and is therefore likely caused by repeatedly getting them soaked in a river crossing and drying them out by the fire.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I've used these boots for everything from crampon treks up snow covered ridges to backpacking, to summer one-day peak ascents. Great ankle support. Very versatile. I put Sole custom insoles in them, which really makes a difference. I wouldn't recommend using the factory insoles. Water proofing is great, yet very breathable. The gore-tex version is overkill, and not recommended. 1-A few small complaints. The laces are tightened about as far as they can go around my ankles. 2-It would be really nice if there were locking lace hooks in front of the instep. It can really save your toes on long downhill portions. 3-I anticipate having to replace the nylon fabric eyelets at some point. I can't figure out why they're there. Otherwise, there great boots, and were worth the [$] investment.

I was attached to a sniper scout platoon in afghanistan and I used these boots for the duration of the deployment. Months upon months of up,down,wet,dry,full-on abuse...and I still use them today on hikes. Three years and going strong! I have never been impressed with a pair of boots like these and I am definitely sticking with La Sportiva in the future.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
There is a stiff rubber reinforcement on the ankle, which at first looked great. However, because the fabric above is not rigid, the rubber digs painfully in to my ankle whenever I am traversing a slope. There is a similar stiffness on the tongue that digs in to the top of my foot as I go up or down an incline.
Perhaps that is a break-in issue but I wasn't willing to endure that pain to break them in. Go with the La Sportiva Glacier or Mountain instead.
Overall, the boot seems tough and durable. I like the tread and the full rubber rand.
The boot was overall a bit too stiff with the steel shank to be used on all kinds of mountains. This is more of a pure glacier boot.

I got these boots on a Friday night and climbed Mt. Saint Helens the next day. NO blisters, NO hot spots! Very comfortable on a 24 mile round trip (Closed road made for 14 extra miles). In snow the whole time and my feet keep warm and dry. I would recommend buying the Superfeet insoles, for me they make all the difference.

Comments about La Sportiva Glacier EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I got these boots for a 22 Day Mountaneering course with Outward Bound. 1 other person and I were the only ones that had these boots and we were the only ones that ended up with 0 thats right ZERO blisters at the end of the course. They kept me warm when I was climbing through knee high snow, and with long pants kept me dry through the rivers. They were comfortable with no break in period. If your doing an Outward Bound Mountaneering course and are looking for a boot, stop here because these boots are perfect for it. If you want a boot thats comfortalbe, dry, warm, wont let you slip when climbing loose talice, and wont give you blisters then this is the boot for you.
