Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
used this boot for a month of ice and mixed climbing and found it to be lacking the warmth for an alpine boot. I took them back and ordered the Batura and that made all the difference in the world. Batura is much warmer and climbs just as well. [...]

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
My climbing guide was wearing a pair on a week-long trip I took in 2007.
I bought my pair last year for a Rainier Climb. The climb was a success and they have served me well ever since. Most recently I wore them on a snowshoeing trip in south-central British Columbia. I was out for full days in -20 degree (Celsius) weather without any issues. However, a good pair of gators is a must if you are going to face more than 15 cm of snow.

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
these boots are always a safe bet. They are warm, sturdy enough for front point ice climbing, yet comfy enough for putting in some trail miles. Be warned that the sportiva sizing has changed. I wore a pair of makalus for years, and found that the same size number in the nepal extremes was smaller fitting. If you take the time to get the correct size, these boots will treat you well for years.

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I already own La Sportiva Trangos and Lhotses.... so I picked these bad boys up to complete my set. Anyhow, this pair of boots took about 30 miles of good hiking before they were broken in to the point I was happy with them. My previous 2 pair of La Sportiva boots only took about 10-15 miles of hiking before they were broken in. These things are robust, which probably explains the longer breaking in period. Do not assume you can take them "out of the box" and throw a old pair of super feet in them then do a long approach, you will be very sorry if you do.... (or at least I know I would have been)

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
These boots are amazing. Don't really know what old boy was talking about. The boots are almost too warm, gotta wear the right socks it the cold. The built in gaiters are somewhat useful in shallow snow, but in the deep stuff, I use bigger ones. Really stiff boot for verts. Easy crampon attachment. The only thing negative I have to say is that La Sportiva factory sole inserts are flimsy, thin, and weak. Easily fixable with $30-40. Ankle support and movement is superb. Definitely worth the money.

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
These boots felt great out of the box compared to my plastic mountaineering boots, and keep getting more comfortable the more I use them. They are ideal for alpine routes involving a significant approach, ice or snow climbing, and rock, since they handle all of them well. They are warm enough for moderate winter use - e.g., took them ice climbing last week, and standing around in the shade with temp around 15F they were fine. The ankle flexibility, dexterity, and comfort of these boots really set them apart from plastics.

bought these for 3 season use, not summer, for hiking, extended backpacking, snow shoes, ice climbing and mountaineering. I would buy these boots again. Little to no break in.

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I used this boot in March in the High Sierras of California. I was very disappointed in the boot's inability to retain warmth, despite claims that this is an expedition boot. My feet froze from the second I hit the snow to the time I got back to the car. Those on the trip that sported plastics had no problem. Snow also heavily accumulated in the tongue area of the boot. Not reccomended for an sort of cold weather related activities. Best use would be for alpine summer trips.

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
It's hard to say anything negative on these boots. The lugs are a little shallow, which helps prevent snow balling up between crampons, but not the best traction without them on. That being said these boots are simply awesome. Warm, dry, and stiff and a leather boot!

Comments about La Sportiva Nepal EVO Mountaineering Boots - Men's:
I have been using those boots for almost two months now for all my mountaineering and snowshoeing. I think the boots are very well designed and manufactured. Comfortable, but You certainly need to break them in. I think the boots will be warm enough for all winter climbing and mountaineering.
