The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
Sturdy, easy to haul. I do not worry about leaks and it hangs and allows controlled flow at any campsite. I got the 6 liter but for flexibility when I don't know where the next water source might be. A little plastic taste on first use. Will try to use a more thorough rinse on next use.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
I think all the highlights of this product have already been addressed but I still felt compelled to write my own review because I was so satisfied with this product.
First, while the 2L model features a plastic exterior like your average Camelbak bladder, the the 6L and 10L models feature an exterior that feels like a rugged canvas and reinforced my confidence in using this product. For example, I filled it and hung it on a tree with a pretty sharp peeling bark. I had no worries that the bag could withstand the sharp bark without being pierced.
Second, the three-function cap is a GREAT feature that was the major selling point for me. The cap features a small spout (great for filling Nalgene bottles, washing dishes, or just wetting your toothbrush). It also features a medium spout (which we used to pour the remaining water into our respective Camelbak bladders for the hike), and a large spout to fill/empty it. The fact that all this is featured on the stock cap pretty much sold me on this bag.
Finally, the overall design of the bag makes it conducive to hanging from something as well as just being left on the floor. Most other campsite bladders just sit on the floor and are only good for one or two purposes. Hanging it makes it SO much easier to use (possibly even to shower under in a pinch?).
Oh, and the water tastes great!
For me, having a significant supply of water at our base-camp (beyond just our backpack bladders and water bottles) is critical. The MSR Drom Bag impressed me with its light weight, versatility, and durable construction. The only criticism I have is that I could only find the bag in black and, while I think black is a cool/elegant color, I want my stuff to stand out so I don't need a flashlight to find it in the dark or lose it in the weeds. It would be great if this came in a flashier color (ideally orange or blue).

Used this on a recent 4 day trip in the backcountry. Filtered water into it and hung it at the campsite for cooking, washing dishes, etc. Tip - buy the MSR Spigot Dromedary Bag Cap
to use with the the bag to have quick access to pouring water to fill pots, wash hands, etc.

The grommeting allows user to attach this product to just about anything. My application is on a mountainbike rear rack for desert travel. Wide mouth attachs to miniworks filter. After 300 miles of desert travel I see no visible wear and looking at another one to mount to the handlebar.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
I love the functionality of this bag. It fits neatly out of the way in the day hatch of my 17 foot sea kayak. I am often traveling on salt water or where reliable potable water is not available. I can easily carry two or three of these bags in my hatches to ensure an adequate water supply on multi-day trips. BUT, I can't get rid of the bad taste! I have tried soaking the inside in vinegar and water, baking soda and water and just plain water and I still can't get the nauseating plastic taste out of the bags. The water is useable for cooking but I can't even make a good tasting cup of coffee from it. And I don't hydrate enough when all I have to drink comes from this bag. I even called MSR who said that the taste would dissipate after a bit of use. Well, I've used the bags for over three years and the taste is still there. Currently, I am looking for a reasonable replacement.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
I carried two of these on a one-way hike for a waterless weekend in the desert. They packed well, did not slide around or alter the balance while I walked and as I used them. I could not cache them or drop them, so I had them on my back all week. 12 liters of water weigh a lot, but these bags were a good thing. I like the three different ways to our water - a little flip-valve lets you squirt a sip, or a bottle cap lets you pour into a cup or pot, or the big lid will let you compress it and empty it.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
This bag will hold up to the worst situation you can put it through. I dropped this bag fully loaded from a tree and it hit a sharp rock on the fall, I thought I was going to be filtering another six liters of water and buying a new bag, nope, not even a scratch, what ever the exterior is made of really works.
I did have a bad taste as did a few other reviewers, but it did eventually subside, probably just the food grade plastic liner being used for the first time, or the luke warm water I put into it.
Great bag MSR, keep it up.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
Excellent engineering, great features such as the multi-use caps, side cords, durability. The only big downside for me, alas, is the very bad rubbery taste the water takes on...presumably from whatever the interior material is made from. Unfortunately, I'm going to have to return it and try some other type of container for camp water storage. Really too bad, because I like everything else about the bag.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
this bag is great. I think it is a little large for backpacking, due to the weight. I humped it it Big Bend and now looking for the 2-liter bag.

Comments about MSR Dromedary Bag - 6 Liter:
I ordered this 6 liter bag when I realized I would need to carry a lot of water on a Big Bend hiking trip.
When I first received the bag, I filled it up and it did indeed hold slightly more than 6 liters, and the handle around the lid connection point was very well designed. Holding the bag by the handle allowed the bag to be almost completely filled without any excess air pockets farther up the bag in the corner.
The construction seems very rugged for a bag, and I did not at any point experience any leaks from the bag during my weekend backpacking. I didn't try sitting on it or anything (not wanting to tempt fate, since I received my bag a day before leaving for the trip), but it seems like it could probably withstand it.
The included string laced around the edge of the bag made it very easy to hang up at a central tree at our campsite, so it was easy to access when preparing meals and drinks.
Surprisingly to me (despite the other reviews saying so) the water tasted great from the bag - no weird plastic or chemical flavors that I could detect.
Six liters of water is a pretty heavy addition to a pack, but six liters in this bag sure beat my contingency plan of 6 one liter nalgene bottles.
