Comments about Osprey Meridian Wheeled Convertible Pack - 28'':
I'm 6'5", and the pack fits great on my large frame. Compared to my wife's Eagle Creek combo, the Osprey is definitely built more for packing and less for leisure travel.
+ Very comfortable in backpack setup
+ Can handle significant weight and holds tight to body
+ Built very well
- Not as much room as size would suggest; frame takes up a lot of room
- Not very easy to get stuff in and out of as regular luggage goes (more like a backpack)
= Daypack is great for wearing comfortably all day and hiking with but is small and opens inward

Comments about Osprey Meridian Wheeled Convertible Pack - 28'':
Love this pack. I replaced a convertible backpack in order to get one with wheels to spare my back. Even with the wheels, it is lighter than other wheeled convertibles, even smaller ones. My one complaint is rear access to the day pack. The [...] stated it opens towards your back for security, and it does have a laptop sleeve, but I find it also less convenient. I've received compliments on the looks of this pack. Overall--I love it!

I love this pack! Even full it wasn't too heavy to carry and of course the wheels come in handy in the airport. I used the day pack almost daily on my last trip. It will be coming with me on my next one too. I would highly recommend this!

Comments about Osprey Meridian Wheeled Convertible Pack - 28'':
My girl friend and I have the same pack. We spent 5 weeks in Portugal, Spian, France and Italy. It did not fail us at all. We love the heavy duty wheels. We rolled it every where even banging some side walks. I honestly have to say we did not even use the back feature on trains meteros and old streets. When there was stairs we picked it up by the hand hold then kept on rolling to our Hotel. The day pack was perfect for urban cities on crowded busses I did not worry about pick pocketers (safety feature). This pack is not for trail or country side backpacking. I did not like the compression straps they dont work at all, Osprey should know better. Its kind of big to have on your back when loaded, unless your a big guy. If I wanted to use the back feature I would down size to the 22 inch carry on. Overall quality is great.

I've been traveling through New Zealand on a backpacker bus for the last 3+ weeks and this bag has been amazing for me. The daypack was perfect. I didn't even know about all the openings (didn't read the information carefully enough) so I kept getting surprised by what I found! So handy! The wheeling option was the envy of the other backpackers. Plus, when I needed to carry it down flights of stairs, that was no problem with the optional carrying straps! I didn't have to carry all my stuff on my back all the time and that was the best. Wheeling it around is definitely preferable. The zipper pulls were also nice on my hands, very comfortable. You can't go wrong with this bag, it's useful in more ways than you can imagine!

Comments about Osprey Meridian Wheeled Convertible Pack - 28'':
This is a great back and I highly recommend it for those who travel on short trips or do not plan to carry it on their back for long periods. I believe it weighs about 9 pounds empty so it is quite heavy. I love the fact that the entire pack transforms from rolling luggage to a backpack. It is great for airline travel as you can unzip the front pack and use it as a backpack as well while the large compartment can be stored in the carry on section. Please note that the front pack must be removed in order for it to be stored in airline compartments. This feature makes it easy to keep all of your luggage together while flying and also makes it great for bus transfers. The zippers are very well made. I stuffed it full for an international trip and it held up great. On my return flight I check the entire pack and it was returned to me in better shape than my hard luggage. I do not think it would be a great option for a hiker.
