Comments about CamelBak H.A.W.G. Hydration Pack - 100 oz.:
The HAWG is a very good purchase. I have the rocket and it's too small when going out to Big Bear and backcountry trails in S.D. The HAWG has enough room for all your basics tools, snacks, extra sports drinks, a hat, and some extra layers of clothing. I was debating between the MULE and the HAWG but the extra capacity won me over. You can even put an extra bladder because Camelbak designed a hole in the storage area to route the tube. It's kind of overkill for the around-the-lake ride but it's a must for those extended-out-of-the-way trips.

Comments about CamelBak H.A.W.G. Hydration Pack - 100 oz.:
I bought this to replace an older version of the HAWG and love it. They improved on the pockets and size of the bladder. Also, it has a place for my ipod which is water resistant. I hiked through the Narrows in Zion NP and never worried about it. I highly recommend it.

Pockets and water. This hydration pack has it all.
I use this for day-hikes and all my bike rides. It has many separate compartments and a latch for car keys. It even has a mesh pocket. The 100 oz. reservoir is just enough.

Full day bike rides away from civilization? The HAWG is for you. In addition to 100 oz of liquid for easy re-hydration, carry nutrition bars and gels; extra jacket, socks & shoe covers; spare tire and repair tools; cell phone plus room to spare. This one adjusts comfortably to your back and allows complete physical movement of your sport. Expensive, but worth it.

Comments about CamelBak H.A.W.G. Hydration Pack - 100 oz.:
I have had a disk removed from my back so I was very concerned about this pack hurting my back. It is very comfortable and has not been a problem for me. The wide mouth on the water bottle makes it very easy to add ice prior to leaving.

I've had this pack for 4 years now, and it has never let me down! Excellent for those long and/or epic rides. Also stores enough cargo for food, clothing, tools, and other necessities.

Comments about CamelBak H.A.W.G. Hydration Pack - 100 oz.:
Excellent pack all around. I have used this along with the MULE. The HAWG is really a do everything pack. Large enough to carry any and everything. Small enough for the epic hot rides. The only time I dont use this pack is when I race to keep some of the weight down but the difference is not all that much. The pack really excels in fall/winter riding. Has all the room to load any piece of clothing into it along with snacks, water, tools. I also have used this pack on vacation excursions. Perfect in every way. Quality as is everything from Camelbak.

Comments about CamelBak H.A.W.G. Hydration Pack - 100 oz.:
If you want a durable and functional hydration pack for mountain biking, stop looking. The H.A.W.G. is the best out there (I own 2 of them and Camelbak keeps making them more functional year after year). It has plenty of pockets and is big enough to carry all the gear and tools that I need for long mountain bike rides. The MP3 pocket on the top (of the newer models) is useful for storing your mobile phone. The pack is also extremely durable. I have put it in the wash several times after it has gotten muddy and sweaty and it comes out unfrayed and looking like new.

Comments about CamelBak H.A.W.G. Hydration Pack - 100 oz.:
I've tried several Camelbak systems in the past and own several as well (classic, blowfish) but for me, the distances, conditions and amount of gear I carry, the HAWG is the best in my opinion. It has enough space to pack extra gear, come the cold weather, but in summer it's not as big as a full daypack that it becomes cumbersome. The load stays stable with the compression straps, sternum web and waste belt. It rides low enough on your back as not to hit you in the back of the helmet on descents. Multiple pockets let you organize gear and I especially appreicate the MP3 pocket which I use to cary my sunglasses and extra lenses. Love the new zip open resevoir compartment as the velcro closure on my blowfish kept separating from the pack (the inspiration for me to look for a new pack). The HAWG lives up to its name, it just does it all!

Oustanding hydration pack for long day hikes. I hiked the Inca Trail, which now requires the use of porters for your main supplied, wearing this pack. Perfect for water, a few snacks, and extra layers. Just big enough for what you need, but small enough that you cannot put too much weight into it.
