Comments about Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandals - Women's:
The straps NEVER stay adjusted so I am constantly refitting this shoe. The diamond pattern on the insole rubs my feet so I can never wear them for an entire day - even if I have the straps as loose as they will go. I have tried to like these shoes for 3 years now, and they are still my least favorite shoes of all time (including any pair of high heels in my closet!) I purchased these shoes because my Keen Newport H2s tend to get hot - but to be honest I'd rather have the heat of my Keens that these cruel shoes. Hands down these shoes are the worst shoe purchase I've ever made. They are only in my closet now because they cost so much that I can't stand to toss them.

Comments about Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandals - Women's:
When I first bought these shoes, I was surprised they were recommended by the American Podiatry Association, for my feet were in pain within 20 minutes of wear. After about 2 weeks (these being my only shoes abroad) my feet adapted, and I wore them everyday for 7 months.

Comments about Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandals - Women's:
I have a pair of Chaco Z1 sandals and a pair of flips, and I have loved both. My only gripe with the Z1 is that they aren't good with water: I found that my foot would slide forward through the sandal. I bought the Z2 expecting to love them as much as the Z1, but with more security with water use. I have had them now for 6 months, and about once a month I put them on and try to love them, but I can't. My main gripe is the toe loop. All the straps are adjustable, but the toe loop is the anchor point for the main strap on one side. I find that with just regular walking (not even hiking) the straps cinch up around my toe, and I end up having to pull the strap loose so it isn't being constricted. I have finally had it with trying to love a shoe that is so flawed, and I plan on returning these for a refund.

I wore the sparrow colored shoes for two weeks in the Galapagos Islands. They were perfect for the entire trip. They clean up well to wear on lava hikes, or in the city. I even wore them snorkeling on afternoon. Anyone with plantar fasciatis will instantly fall in love with the arch support. I own four different pairs of Chaco, and each pair is worth the price.

Comments about Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandals - Women's:
My Z/2's got me through hiking the Grand Canyon, hikes in the Tetons, Canyonlands, and even a lava flow on the Big Island. When not hiking, I still wear my Chaco's for school, shopping, rafting, and little adventures. In short, they are the PERFECT sandals (for me). I know some people can't wear them because of the arch, but try them and if the arch works, you will fall in love! Everywhere I go I have to have my "Chaco picture" and I love to see the progression of the Chaco tan. They really are the best pair of shoes I have ever owned just because I can do everything in them except exercising. :) They definitely are a wonderful shoe [...]Did I mention they're machine washable?!

Comments about Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandals - Women's:
I bought these sandals because of all of the great things that I have heard about them. Well, I wore them 4 times and by the end of the day, my feet were so sore on the bottom that I couldn't wait to get them off! I tried again and again. I thought maybe they needed some break in time. They also had such a long strap that I ended up cutting off about 1 1/2 inches for my narrow feet. It's too bad because they fit well and are comfy initially. My friend bought a pair of slides and has not had any problems with them.

Comments about Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandals - Women's:
I don't get all the commotion with these shoes. I was shopping for a new pair of sandals and read all the of the wonderful reviews on this shoe, so I purchased them. Turns out, they're just ordinary sandals. They are comfortable, but no more than my Keen's or Ecco's. The straps do not stay put, so you are continually resizing them to your feet -- which isn't the easiest thing to do. For the money, I'd say look elsewhere. These are nothing special.

Comments about Chaco Z/2 Unaweep Sandals - Women's:
I recently took these sandals on a backpacking trip to Havasu Falls. I wanted sandals that would be supportive for my flat feet and perform well in water, as we would be hiking in and out of the water and climbing rocks through the falls. Unfortunately, after less than a mile of the first hike in the water, the straps had worn holes through the first two layers of my skin, resulting in big open wounds. While the sandals have great support, I was not able to wear them or any other sandals for the rest of my trip. They may be fine for hiking or walking city streets, but the straps are not well designed to use when wet.

I love these sandals! They are very comfortable, but you should try to break them in slowly. Once your feet get used to the straps and you get them adjusted just right, you will never want to take them off! When backpacking, if you want two pairs of shoes, a pair of Chacos is perfect. They don't take up a ton of room in your pack, you can wear them on the beach in Greece, in a dirty hostel shower, running through any place in the rain, and they will hold up and keep you stable. The somewhat hefty cost is definitely worth it!

I have lots of feet problems. These were recommended by my podiatrist. Terrific, even though they are so expensive...
