Comments about adidas ClimaCool Cardrona Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
Was reccomended this shoe by an adventure racer who told me the story behind the design of this shoe and how eventually, after many attempts, it saw its production and retailing. Was somewhat worried about the "open" shoe concept, and that I would get my feet wet from the getgo, but after having used Gore-Tex lined trail running shoes on 12-hour events, and realizing that it took those shoes three days to dry, I was ready to try something else, something that would dry quickly. And, may I add, if one gets wet anyway, even with the Gore-Tex lined shoes, might as well pick these shoes. I run alot on sloped terrain, horizontally, so the design of the sole of this shoe is particularly unique for this: it has ridges that run on the center of the long line of the sole, so that it provides maximum traction when gravity is coming from the side (haven't seen other running shoes that have that, so this unique...). The shoe is light, and if feels like it when running. It is also very soft, and some people may not like it. I am 150 lbs, and I prefer a very soft and grippy shoe, in which I "feel" the terrain when running with them. I tested them on very muddy woodsy slopes, and they provided great traction. As far as the "getting wet" since they are open, the trick is choosing great socks. Among the cons: they are unprotected in the front, so if you hit a rock, you will feel it. They are soft, and not hard, so if you are running on rocky terrain, you will feel it. The padding inside the tongue and at around the heel area does not dry as quickly as other shoe's padding. On grass and woodland terrain it is great. On rocky and abbrasive terrain it is not so great.

Comments about adidas ClimaCool Cardrona Trail-Running Shoes - Men's:
I purchased the shoes and immediately went on a trail run in the POURING rain! The shoes performed better than I could've ever imagined. The trails were full of mud, rocks, roots, logs, standing and running water. In many areas, the water was flowing like a river. I never slipped once! The water never pooled up in the shoe, it just runs right out. I even hauled butt in many areas and was still able to dodge hopping toads with ease. The agility is phenomenal, and the light weight never made my feet feel heavy. I had no worries, no blisters, rubbing, numbing or anything as I have had with many other shoes. I did use some good socks with good cush; of course my socks were trashed within the first few steps. I ran 5 miles and had every bit of confidence that I could've gone much further without any issues. I washed them in the washer and dried them in the drier immediately after running, and they are still like new. They even smell good, which is a good sign with odor control. I recommend these shoes to anyone interested in or is going to run an adventure race involving wet terrain. Happy running.

They are great shoes. The shoes utilize a mesh design for their shell so you can see right through to your feet and see what socks you’re wearing. With that in mind, I wouldn’t recommend using them on a rainy day or any trails with standing water in the path since you’ll have wet socks. The shoes dry quite quickly and with the mesh design, you’re feet are always dry and never get overheated.

alot of good and only a little bad. more like areas to improve. a perfect shoe for the type of wet river/jungle backpacking that i was doing, i couldn't find a better shoe and i looked everywhere. i was disappointed to find it was uncomfortable when worn bare-foot but liners without socks was enuff to make it comfy. the laces seem to get loose alot, and i never noticed out-side in rivers but inside on tile i slipped on some water on the floor. But the bottom line is i love these shoes i just wish they would make some minor adjustments.

I got these shoes on clearance and have worn them just about everywhere since then. They are designed to be a water shoe, with some extras. There is a polyurethane shank/inserts in the sole to help on the trails. I have worn them as train runners several times and have never been disappointed. I even wore these up Dunn's River falls in Jamaica, no problem!

I can wear this shoe all day, then go straight to the gym. When I get home, my feet do not stink. That is a first. Also, the shoe is quite comfortable as a trail runner.
