The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about Liberty Mountain Lightload Beach Towels:
These towels (and the smaller version) are the best. I'm constantly going back and forth to the gym and don't have a locker, but this towel packs up so small that I can take all my workout gear in my regular messenger bag along with books, water, laptop, and whatever else I need to carry that day. I don't have to take a special gym bag as I would with a cotton towel. They're much cheaper than my other pack towels, too.
They are of course much larger after you take them out of the packaging, but they still fold up small and add no weight to my bag. They're also very absorbent, and I don't have to worry about chlorine ruining a more expensive towel.
For backpacking, kayaking, and other adventures, I toss one of these unopened into my gear, just in case.

Comments about Liberty Mountain Lightload Beach Towels:
Loved to space-saving portability and size when unpacked. Absorbency was fine. Based on previous reviews, I expected the towels to last through a few washes. I used permanent press cycle and washed with load of cotton towels. Towel fell apart completely and I was picking the orange colored lent pills off my other towels for about 3 more wash & dry cycles after that. I'd consider this a one-use product and/or consider washing separately on gentle.

Comments about Liberty Mountain Lightload Beach Towels:
Stumbled across this a over a year and a half ago when I was looking for compact towel for my sail bag. This towel is great. Yes, rough when first used, but softens up and stays absorbent. Have purchased many of these for other sailing friends who love it. Largest and most practical, cost effective travel towel I've every purchased.

Comments about Liberty Mountain Lightload Beach Towels:
I packed one of these towels for use at the beach and pool on a backpacking trip in the South Pacific (carried an REI Multi Lite for bathing). It was rough immediately out of the package so I washed it in the sink with some shampoo. It dried quickly and was soft and absorbant. It has held up to about 4 additional washes in washing machines while traveling and is still going strong. It packs small and did it's job...an affordable alternative to carrying a heavy terry towel.

Comments about Liberty Mountain Lightload Beach Towels:
This towel is a great value. It is thinner than the higher priced pack towels out there and it is rough when it is first opened. But after a few washes it softens up very nice and as long as you take reasonable care of it you shouldn't have a problem with durability. I would suggest hand washing and letting it air dry instead of the dryer. The towel is super absorbent and very light. After use you can wring it out and hang it dry in less than an hour in most climates. When compared to other high priced towels that aren't as big it is a great value. I am still on my first one but I do anticipate replacing it sometime in the future. The only reason I did not give this towel all 5 stars is because of the durability issue. It is apparent from the thickness and material that the towel will eventually wear out but as I said before for the price and performance it is much better than the other towels I have found out there. If you do plan to take this towels on a trip I would suggest opening it and washing it before the trip. If you use it straight from the package it is extremely rough.

Comments about Liberty Mountain Lightload Beach Towels:
Bought one of these recently. Tried to wash it in washing machine, it fall apart badly and stuck to all other clothing. I tried another one of these in a washing bag and then put it in washing machine , and that one did not completely fall apart but had wholes in it . So I think just hand washing would be left to do next time. But generally I like the compact and nice size and absorbent. Good for traveling light.

Comments about Liberty Mountain Lightload Beach Towels:
I used the towels while camping and traveling, for one summer only. After a few washes the towels completely fell apart in the washing machine. They almost ruined my washing machine and the other clothes I washed them with. The convenience of their size and quick drying is not worth the risk!

it is soft and absorbent and large enough to go around , but it is not a strong and lasting towel, just hand wash it , it falls apart quickly if you use washer.i wish they made it a bit stronger,
