Comments about Bell Influx II Bike Helmet:

I just recently starting riding again. I am riding canal roads and main streets six days a week. The helmet is comfortable and breaths. Riding in 100 degree weather requires that little extra bit. This is a great helmet.

Comments about Bell Influx II Bike Helmet:

This is a great helmet. I liked it so much that I bought it again after my first one cracked. The helmet has lots of ventilation holes which make it easy to mount lights to both the front and back of it. It also has a nice fitting/padding system which allows it to fit nicely to your head.

Comments about Bell Influx II Bike Helmet:

I tried on several helmets but loved the fit of the Bell Influx. I also prefer the dial tension system it uses to the pinch levers on other helmets. The Influx performed well on rides with LOTS of airflow keeping me cool. It looks sharp too. I loved my new helmet. A few hours ago, I just broke it when I hooked a tree with my handlebar and went down hitting the side of my head around the temple on a very large root. The helmet did it's job perfectly, breaking so that I wouldn't. In fact, it there was no swelling, no bruise (so far) and no pain. This helmet is awesome and I will absolutely get another one. [...] Even if I have to pay full price, it will be well worth the money. If the Influx fits you well, buy one!

Having the ride of the summer on the Mid Mountain Trail, I came to the new connector to Deer Vally Resort. Lots of bunnies, lots high banking. To fast to soon, I hit a double jump with a tight left turn right after. As I was in flight, I did not have time to react to the turn, plus I did not see that it was a double jump. I was short.I hit the second jump and then got ejected. I flew thought the air like a rocket. Not enough time to brace my self for impact. I landed on my head, not a soft landing. The Bell Helmet protected my head. It did its job, it did show 4 cracks. I was unhurt. Ride Hard Ride Fast

I'm on my third Bell Influx - First one did it's job in a nasty crash that broke my collarbone. Liked the fit so much I bought another one and also got one via the Bell replacement program. I have one for the trail and the other on the Road. They fit, vent well and do their job when you plant one on your head. Why pay more?

I dislike wearing any thing on my head (hat, helmet, etc.) However, I enjoy the comfort of this helmet. Excellent choice for anyone who don't like to wear helmet, but feels it is necessary.

Comments about Bell Influx II Bike Helmet:

As summer started to approach I started looking for a replacement for my helmet which was the cheapest thing I could find at the chain store bike section. I had several criteria:
                    Comfortable
                    Well ventilated
Able to mount a LED headlight without much problem.
Price was also a factor but not a huge one. I was willing to pay for comfort. I seriously considered the Gyro Atmos. High $, high end but super well ventilated. Lots of reviews raved about its comfort. I also considered a helmet by Fox which had a nice ridge in the front to help out with mounting the light.
In the end though I ended up with the Bell Influx which was about ½ to 1/3 the price of the others. As "cool" as the Gyro Atmos seemed I couldn't deny that the Bell fit my head better. The internal curve of the helmet was more condusive to my head shape. Also the back mounting bracket (where you adjust) goes considerably lower than the pinch brackets on the Gyros helmets.

This results in a more secure front to back hold and keeps the helmet positioned at the proper angle for safety. Probably not as cool but I'll take a little hit for a better fit. I also like that it's the dial type system vs the pinch clip system.

Compared to department store helmets it was pretty cool though. I could feel the difference in heat buildup after wearing it outside for 5 minutes. The larger holes allow for greater heat to escape as well as ventilation. Its probably not as aerodynamic as a racing helmet, but I'm not a racer.

But what really sold the helmet over the atmos and the fox was getting the light mounted on it. I use a Petzl Myo XP as my main light at night and previously I had been taping it to the helmet. With this helmet if you slide out the strap mounting studs on the front of the helmet you can slip the elastic band of the light under them and pull it down. Also the back has a flat enough area to handle the battery pack. It holds the light with no problem.

My only gripe on the fit is it needs a little more padding at the very top. I'm going to grab some foam and stick it there. Also it is a mountain bike helmet vs a road bike helmet, so its not the thinnest, lightest thing available.

It was really nice to find a helmet that met all my needs and wasn't priced at the higher end of the spectrum.

                    So to Recap
                    Pros
                    Cool(er)
Great fit, superior mounting system (at least for my head).
Reasonably priced compared to some other offerings.
                    Can mount my headlight

                    Cons
Needs a little more top padding.

                    Conclusion
A great helmet for the price, good ventilation, excellent fit. If your looking for a new helmet give this one a try, but go for what fits your head best. If your using a department store grade helmet and heat is in issue get a more ventilated helmet, it really does make a difference.
