Comments about Marmot Col EQ -20 Sleeping Bag - Long:
This bag is awesome. It really is very water resistant indeed and not just because of a DWR coating but because it actually has a water proof membrane in it. I was told by Marmot that the only reason it's not "water proof" is that they don't seal the seams. I guess this is something that's either not possible with sleeping bags, or just isn't desirable. The level of waterproofing is to the point where the only thing you shouldn't do is sleep directly on ice or snow, or sleep in a river, or some other silly thing.
Warmth-wise, it's very very warm. I've come nowhere near the temperature rating so I don't want to comment on that. But, my wife also has one of these and uses it when we're going backpacking/camping in conditions that will get down to maybe 10-20F. She's a very cold sleeper and she absolutely roasts in this bag. For her, I think it would probably get down to 0F and she would still be VERY comfortable.
I find the zippers easier to deal with than other reviewers. The bag has a tougher and smoother fabric near the zipper so it's much harder to snag than other cheaper bags.
This bag is also very roomy, so keep that in mind when comparing to other manufacturers that claim a lighter bag for the same rating, but the bag is skinny as a rake and the rating is optimistic at best. Marmot's ratings are highly conservative and in official testing they often come out as warmer than they need to be for the rating.
Love this bag.

Comments about Marmot Col EQ -20 Sleeping Bag - Long:
I'd substitute my bed for this any night. No joke.
When the temp drops, this sleeping bag performs. I've even slept in a snow cave with this and it stayed dry.
The bag might be slightly on the heavy side, but sleep is not something I'm willing to sacrifice - regardless of weight gained. I won't sleep unless I'm comfortable and, without fail, I fall asleep like a baby in this night after night.

Comments about Marmot Col EQ -20 Sleeping Bag - Long:
Very happy with the space inside.
On those really cold nights it gets a bit cold, especially if you're totally exhausted.
Overall I'm satisfied, but at that price that was expected. I love my bag and I'm looking forward to the winter again because I have it!
