Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
Delightful bag. Warm, can pack it quite small; not too heavy. Everything a good 3 season mummy bag should be. I use it now mostly for colder trips as I (a side sleeper) now prefer my quilt set up for most trips but recently when I enjoyed a cold few days, I was really glad I had the Marmot.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
Great sleeping bag. I used it on a 2-day motorcycle trip where every inch of space and ounce of weight counts. The bag packed down small and weighed very little. It performed well in the mountains where I was camping and even though it was in the mid 30s low 40s I was sweating and had to unzip the bag a bit that is how heat efficient the bag was. I was very happy with the performance overall but there were a few things that could have been better. While the bag is fairly roomy compared to a few others I tested I wouldn't recommend it for anyone who likes to spread out a lot when they sleep as there are only a few inches to spare. The zipper was also a little tricky and would stick and get caught near the hood of the bag. So far other than those minor things it is a great bag for my backpacking/camping/motorcycling needs.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
After much analysis... I picked this bag last year primarily for Southern Cal and Sierra backpacking trips. I ended up recently swapping it for a Marmot Hydrogen. Here's why:
It's just TOO warm and bulky for me. In the grand scheme of bags I'm sure this would be considered a backpacking bag... but I just didn't need a 15 degree bag. I went up to a 30 degree bag, and bought a $20 ALPS bag liner for any real cold nights. In doing this, I saved almost 1.5 lbs (huge!) and some room in my pack (a surprising amount.)
That being said... this is still a great bag. It's hood and collar are quite comfy. There is a ton of room in it for a tall guy (I had a long model) and I enjoyed the roomy foot area, also. I just don't think you can go wrong with any Marmot down products (I'm in no way affiliated with Marmot!)
I'd recommend this if you only wanted one warm bag for car and backpack camping, but if you are concerned about weight, there are lighter Marmot products.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
Used this bag for its trial run up the Dosewallips (Olympics) in cold January. First I am just completely satisfied with how it compacts in a Small seatosummit compresssion sack. (8 liters) No more sleeping bag hanging off the back of my backpack. Secondly the bag is very comfortable, roomy and warm. With one exception this bag did great at snow line probably around 15-20 degrees. The exception and only complaint I have about the bag is that where the zipper lines the whole of the bag cold air seeps in. It was a bit frustrating to have most of my body totally warm and comfortable and at the zipper line have it cold. I adjusted to the problem by shifting the zipper line under my body as to contain it between my body and pad. Get out there!

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
Love this bag. It's great for the winter months, late fall or early spring. When it was freezing up on the summit, I was inside this bag almost sweating. It is a little too warm for the summer, very soft to lay on though.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
I have owned the bag for two months, but have been able to take it on 4 camping trips in that time with conditions ranging from 25 F to 60 F at night. I use it paired with a thermorest z-lite and REI pillow and it is very comfortable. I look forward to sleeping with this set up and like the feel of 800 fill down. I have considered opening it up and using it like a personal duvet on the bed, but am afraid my wife will think I lost my mind. I am relatively big for a hiker (5'11 and 220# with 38 waist and 46R chest) but find this bag offers plenty of room in the shoulders and waist to toss and turn at night, which I do a lot of. I have found that it is hot when temperatures get above 40 F. To adjust I open it up and use it like a blanket. It has not been cold enough to feel cool in the bag. I have not had problems with the zipper and have not had down "leaking" out of the bag. Like all mummy bags it can feel restrictive if you are not used to it. I have not been camping whith it in the rain, so I can not speak to how repellent the shell is. If all Marmot bags are like this one and it holds up over the next year, consider me a loyal customer for life.
Service and delivery comments:
Delivery was unbelievably quick! I believe it came to my door 3 days after I submit the order on line.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
Skinny guy, live in the south... Like fall-winter-spring camping (hate bugs)... Prefer to be warm when I sleep. Also have cold feet...
Like others have said, this bag has an amazing foot box. It is a nice design with many options for configuring the hood. The draft collar is also exactly what you want.
I stay very hydrated and tend to perspire more than most at night. I'm not so much sweaty, but do like sleeping warm so the bag can become a little damp each night as it moves the moisture away from my body. I've found that if I just let it air out in the cool morning temps and then stuff for the whole day, by the 2nd or 3rd day it's too wet to work properly the next night. My trick is to fluff and air it out over lunch. Then the bag is back in top performance. I haven't had to try multiple days of rain, but I'd be nervous that I'd have a challenge with such a scenario. Though I do believe this is an issue I'd have with any down bag...
Fluffed and dry, I'd readily take this bag to 15 (and have)... Probably lower as well, though I wouldn't expect to be quite so toasty

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
Have only used this bag for 3 nights, but will go ahead and give it 5 stars based on using the similar Arete for the last year and a half, with the main differences being more fill and the draft collar.
The bag was used in an Integral Designs eVent Unishelter bivy, on a Big Agnes Insulated Air Core pad. Wore UnderArmour boxer briefs, and Smartwool lightweight PhD socks all 3 nights.
Night 1: 19F, toasty. Uncinched hood during night.
Night 2: 30F, added a long sleeve 200wt Icebreaker top, unzipped bag all the way, and used it as a quilt, as I was sweating from the waist down with the bag zipped.
Night 3: 22F, left bag unzipped to my shoulder, and slept comfortably.
As a very warm sleeper, the Arete is comfortable for me down to around freezing. With ~33 degree lower EN rating, this is easily a sub-zero bag for me with the addition of long baselayers.
Great loft, comfortable, extremely warm.

Picked up this bag on a great REI sale, plus the member discount. Excellent bag: well-designed, warm and roomy. Not an ultra-light 900-fill, but at half the price, I'll carry the extra 10 oz.

Comments about Marmot Pinnacle Sleeping Bag:
So first off, beautiful company and great bag all around. The first night this bad boy was was taken on a camp trip in the lower 20 degree weather. My biggest fear was not only was there frost forming on the ground and it was only 7:00 pm but later that night I had sheets of ice I chipped away that was covering my tent. I climbed into my bag and found that quickly I was no longer cold. It took only a few min. and my body was deliciously warm in a fluffy, cloudy, heartwarming, goodness. I stayed warm all night and all morning, my temp on my car read 20 degrees. This bag will forever serve me in both cold and warm camping adventures, from high peaks, to drive up campsites. I love this bag and regret not buying it sooner.
My only problem is that the hood is kinda small but its just because I like to toss and turn while I sleep. Also the bag seemed to absorb condensation, which was no prob because just a few min in the sun it was dry as a bone...(not real cons but I can't say it is 100% flawless, but the closest to flawless I've ever used) This has got to be the best bag I have ever been inside and used on my camp trips.
Bottom line is, if you want a really awesome bag that will hold up in the toughest cold weather, keeps you warm without packing down to the size of a beach ball, camping all year round, also light and durable? Please don't look at the price tag, look at how much more camping you will be doing with your new Marmot Pinnacle sleeping bag...Final words and regret, why did I ever wait so long to buy this bag? Don't make the same mistake I did, with proper care this bag will never disappoint!
