The REI Member Dividend
The REI dividend is a unique benefit of membership in the REI co-op. It's comprised of your member refund—typically 10% back on eligible purchases—and/or your REI Visa® card rebates.
Each March, active REI members and REI Visa cardholders who earned a rebate receive a refund in the form of an annual dividend notice.
Only active members receive annual dividend notices. To maintain your active status as an REI member, you need to make net merchandise or shipping purchases of at least $10 per year, unless you joined that year. Member numbers are issued in one name and only that person receives the member refund. Your number can be used by others in your family, but it cannot be transferred to someone else.

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
I use this daily on my early morning commute. I like the multiple light modes and it is highly visable to cars. It is also easily removed and tucks away easy for daylight rides. There are "better" lights out there, but this one I think is hard to beat for the price.

This is a great taillight. I have had this for 7+ years and it just keeps going. It has a great seal to keep out moisture and the multiple flash patterns give you many options to chosse from.

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
I have numerous bikes and several different types of rear lights. This is one of the best rear lights - not because it is the brightest, but it has one LED on each side so people can see you from the sides (great for intersections). None of my other rear lights sport this feature, and I think it is very useful. One reviewer commented that it is advertised has having five LEDs, but there were only three. I thought the same thing until I realized is has two lights on the sides.

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
I replaced the one that fell of rear rack (see previous review).
I drilled a small hole in the clip. I then rain a twisty tie through that hole and holes on my back rack. This seems to have solved my problem of this light falling off.
I don't fault the light clip for falling off. It's just that the rack and this light were not made for each other.

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
I was in REI last weekend and almost bought this little tail light as an extra to keep with me,
for friends who forget their own. The packaging, on one side states that it has 5 LED's, as does this advertisement. However, on the other side it says that it has 3 LED's, and from a close up inspection it only appears to have just 3 LED's. Side coverage on a tail-light is very important, and many car-bike accidents involve getting hit from a side angle. Only buy this light as a 2nd, back-up light; after all, isn't your safety worth a few bucks more?

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
I'm a graduate engineering student in Atlanta and needed a light for commuting around campus. I probably spent an hour comparing tail lights in the store and bought this one for the side visibility, price, and built in clip. Contrary to what one reviewer said, the light does have 5 LEDs. Three large rear facing and two smaller side facing ones. The light has a built in clip that slides into the mounting bracket. The advantage of this design, is that when the light is removed from the bike, I can clip it to the outside of my pack where it doesn't take up space and is instantly accessible. Unfortunately, the clip can be installed in the mount two ways but only one way is right. When properly installed, the mount clicks and is very secure. I didn't find any instructions, so you have to realize this yourself. The mounting bracket itself could be improved. It's a plastic ring tightened with a screw that comes with rubber shims so you can get a tight fit on different size tubes. The Cateye lights have the best mounting bracket but I'm only installing this once so I can overlook the extra time required to get it set up. This light is much better than it's 3 out of 5 average would indicate and can't be beat for the price.

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
Purchased this light about a month ago, put it on my Xtracycle's light loop as a way to be seen on my early morning rides to work. On the second day riding home the lens came loose and dropped the lower battery and the seal. The lens remained on the light and fell off in my driveway. After several days of looking out for the seal I gave up on it. Using a hair tie I secured the 2 components together and figured the next time I made the 120 mile trip to the nearest REI I would exchange it. Well today the exchange possibility became null. The light managed to fall off somewhere along my 2 mile commute to work. Quite possibly the worst [$] that I have spent on my commuting gear. Guess I need to find a GOOD replacement before mother nature puts my morning commutes back in the dark.

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
I like the flashing patterns and brightness of this light. However, from the first time I installed batteries I haven't been able to get the red plastic lens to click securely into place. I was constantly picking up the lens and putting it back on, until it's most recent fall resulted in it becoming cracked and the yellow gasket getting lost. The light also falls off the clip.

Comments about NiteRider TL-5.0 Rear Bike Light:
The first time I used this I had it clipped on the back of my new Topeak Explorer MTX Rack. Maybe I should find a better place to clip it on. Possibly my CamelBak pack or on the back loop of my Novara Commuter Rack Trunk. Considering a replacement for my lost one. Not sure if I would recommend this, but right now I will say, "Yes," and may give it another chance.
