Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
I love my new tent! It was lightweight, fit perfectly in my backpack along with sleeping bag and mat, easy to setup, and roomy for 2. I've been wanting to get a tent for a while and this is a great investment for many outdoor trips to come!

Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
I backpack up to a lot of 14ers in Colorado. I needed a 4 pound tent to keep my pack light. This little dandy fits the bill. It's not rugged for heavy use, but it will keep you dry and protected in rainstorms and holds pretty well when tied down during winds. It's very basic with reasonable ventilation. I'll use it on my Canada to Mexico Continental Divide bicycle ride this summer. Frosty Wooldridge, 6 continent world bicycle traveler

Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
You can't beat this price for such a sturdy tent. It's easy to set up even in the dark. I took this tent out in Mark Twain National Forest SE of Springfield, MO one April night, and it was solid and pretty dry. Only a little condensation on the inside, and it stayed very warm. I'm taking this tent backpacking in Rocky Mountian National Park very soon, and I have full confidence in it.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
I was looking for 2 person tent for me and my wife to do some backpacking and I did A LOT of research to find the perfect tent. I wanted to get a light, but also inexpensive tent, and when I went to the REI store I was shown a bunch of tents, but not this one. When I asked about it, I was told that it was just too heavy, and that it was better for car camping. Several representatives told me about how awesome the Half Dome was though, so I was about to get that, but then I saw the tent stats for both the half dome and the Camp Dome and I noticed that this one is actually lighter than the half, and for about half the price. I've used in a bunch of times now and am very happy with it. It's easy to set up, light to carry, and it's roomy enough for me and my wife. If you are over 6 feet tall though, don't get this tent. I'm exactly foot, and if I were any taller, there just wouldn't be room for 2 people and gear. Also, it's a sturdy tent with a fly that is great for almost all conditions, but if I planned on camping in VERY harsh weather, I would get a tent with a fly that extends to the ground.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
This is the second Camp Dome 2 we have purchased - to use when we don't want to bring the 6-person tent for the whole family! Set-up is so quick and simple with this tent - makes camping much easier! Used Camp Dome 2 ground cover along with the tent which worked well in the rainy weather we had the first night. Did have some minor leakage or more likely soak-through that took place on the area of the tent below where the rain fly covers, but nothing major.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
I set this up in my house to try it out. It was easy to set up. The tent design seems well thought out. This would be a really cozy 2-person tent. But it is just right for one person with their gear. The raincover does not provide any additional square footage outside of the tent. It seems as though the tent will give good ventilation.
I purchased the ground cover. I then began thinking about all the hidden items on the ground that could punction the tent bottom - so I invested in a welder's blanket for $10 to go under the tent. I image that a sheet of Tyvek would help out too and be much lighter than the welder's blanket.
I purchased a space brand blanket (tarp with aluminum on one side) to lay down on the interior of the tent to keep from puncturing the tent bottom from inside. I also like the idea that the aluminum film will radiate body heat back to my sleeping bag without body heat loss to the ground.

Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
I was helping a friend do her shopping for the World Race, as she came to me for help with things like packs and sleeping bags. When I found she needed a tent, I was excited to do my homework. Then I found this tent, and the search was over. A light weight, compact, well-ventelated, 2man tent was just what she needed, and to find an REI brand product at this good a price was a dream. And it's true. Good, strong aluminum poles, 2 big, easy to work doors, and a set-up that makes logical sense. What else do you need?
(Note: I am a 6'4" 225lb male. This would be a 1 man tent for me. Under 6ft is a requirement for this to be a 2 man.)

Comments about REI Camp Dome 2 Tent:
It'd be great if it was just a hair bigger, but I still love this tent. The best part was that I was able to set it up by myself in like 5-10minutes.
