  • Safety System puncture protection utilizes a polyamide nylon belt directly under the tread strip, making the tires virtually impervious to puncture and road debris

  • Flexible shoulder lugs and fine sipes enhance grip in turns and on loose surfaces

This was my second set of these and they've been on the bike nearly a year now. Only one flat that I can remember this year, and that was on the C&O Canal Towpath during a downpour. Probably a pinch flat on a sharp rock because we never found a foreign object. I've been completely happy with the performance and will probably get another set when these wear down.

my previous tire that came with the bike rotted after 6 months and i was getting flats every day. i don't know that this is a great tire, but I haven't gotten a flat yet. i do feel better around the turns also, sticks to the road nicely. not very good (as expected) though in occasional muddy patches, but there's not usually many of them.

The best tire for the money! Especially if you can get 20% off.I decided to write a review of this product as it was one of the Hi-lites of my 2010 XC trip. . You can't go wrong. 4500 miles= 0 Flats. Some of it's luck I know but allot of the credit I'm sure is the tire. I did replace the rear tire in Minneapolis with about 2600 miles on it as it was getting a little warn and I still had 2000 miles to go. I know if I went with the 37 instead of the 32 tire wear wouldn't of been a issue. But there is noticeable rolling resistance so thats my reason to go with the 32. Cons=0, no defects, no flats.

IMHO does not protect better than basic tires. During Cali- Florida tour put these on in Phoenix. Had a 32c front, 37c rear, rear went flat 3 times in 1 day from metal semi tire belting shards. 12 flats over 1500 miles. Also used Conti Touring Plus, equally poor results on GF's bike. Transcontinental bike tourist will never buy Continental again.
  • Great all around road tire. Zero flats!
Great all around tire for commuting. Recommended.

This is a great tire for riding around town, commuting and light touring. This tire came with my Surly LHT, and I rode it for two years and had one flat. I replaced it with Schwalbe, but then went back to Contis. Contacts are not as long-lasting as Schwalbe Marathons, but in every other area they're superior: more comfortable to ride on, much better grip on wet surfaces, fewer flats, and easier to get on/off rims.

I had been averaging a flat about every 3 weeks with the tires that came with my Trek DS 8.2. I bought one of these for the back and haven't had a flat in 5 months. After getting a flat on the old front tire, I replaced that with a Contact 700 about a month ago--so far no flats. My commute features broken glass and other debris along the way, so I'm really impressed with these tires so far. I can't comment on the durability yet as I only have about 700 miles on the back tire. But I would definitely recommend these tires.
  • Great tire for touring
This is a great tire. It is affordable, it won't flat often, and it's great in the rain. Expect it to wear out after 2,000 miles on a loaded bike, probably 4,000 unloaded.
