Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
I've commuted with these tires for over two years with no flats to date. I moved to Denver, city of the goatheads, and while my friends recieved countless punctures every other week, i kept on rolling. Also, they seem to help with keeping the rain spray away from me when riding in the Portland weather even without fenders. These tires still have plenty of life left on them and are a great tire for the price. I plan to buy another set when these wear out.

Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
I've only flatted this tire a few times. Once was when I accidentally ran over an bottle of beer (not glass piece) and actually teared the sidewall. The other time...actually I don't recall really. I've biked 100+ miles through goat head country (puncture vine) and probably about 1000 miles through Seattle and had no flats.
I'm guessing I'll get about 4000-5000 miles out of my pair.
I don't think the tire is especially fast compared to my road bike's tires, however I've done "century" rides no problem.

A Great Tire! 4,450 miles solo touring across the US and Canada and 0 flats.....a miracle and all for around $28. on sale at REI.......why pay more. My Surly came stock with these so I decided to stick with Brand and I'm glad I did.

Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
I have put thousands of miles on my 700x32 Contacts and I have to say these are the best tires I've ever had. I've chosen to ride my bike as my only transportation for over 10yrs. and need good tires to keep me going(without spending tons of money). These tires fit the bill!
I ride on the streets and running trails of Austin, some good some bad. I have only had 2 flats with my current tires and the things that went into the tire would have given a car a flat. As far as rolling resistance, I wouldn't say "high", but there is a little. But for what everything else you get with these tires, it's a small price. I look at it as an added bonus work out!
For an everyday rider, I know I've gotten my moneys worth.

Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
While this tire is smooth and fairly puncture resistant, it is far too difficult to mount on my bontrager wheels. I've had tight tires before but this one is off the charts. Would not purchase again, don't like to spend so much time fighting the tire. Have had too many rattlesnake bites immediately after repairing other punctures. Never to buy again.

Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
Let me start with the good (reason I gave two stars and not one), this tire has great traction and sheds water very well. I really liked the tread design and thought that the roll resistance was pretty low. Now, the reason I wrote "EPIC FAIL" for my title. I bought a pair of these tires to replace my old Kendas that came on my K2 Alturas 2.0 bike a few years ago. Bought new tubes as well. At 111 miles, my rear tire blew out. Evidence of a piece of glass, but seeing as these are supposedly "impervious to road debris", I thought maybe it's a fluke. So I traded that tire in as it was damaged along with the tube [...] and got a new tube and tire (same model). 173 miles later, rear tire blew out again (not sure of the culprit, but cut out a good chunk of sidewall). I never had this kind of luck with my old Kenda's, which I think I fixed about 4 flats in 2500 miles, with a 5th flat being the final straw to make me buy new tires. Needless to say, I'm very dissappointed. I expected much better.

Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
These tires came on my surly long haul trucker when I got it about 7 months ago. Ive taken it on off-road dirt/gravelly trails and commuted with it everyday for about 800 miles so far. Ive had two flats with it... but the second one was a complete blowout that ripped the sidewall of the tire itself. Not sure what caused it so I dont know if its the "tires fault". But otherwise the tires seems to be good... dont have much to compare it too though expect my skinny road bike tires which are faster but get flats wayyy more often. But I did ride some trails that were puddles of mud water, and everyone else had their front and backs covered... while my front was completely dry (with no front fender). So I think it channels water pretty well!

Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
First off I found that the tire was pretty easy to mount, much easier than most of the other road tires I've been using. After mounting them I noticed they seemed pretty narrow. I purchased the 700x32 and on the caliper they came out to 27.6mm. These were about the same width of the 28mm Panaracer Ribmo's I was replacing. So I returned them to go up to the next size. The 700x37 ended up around 34mm. I didn't expect them to be spot on (as most tires aren't), but I didn't think they would be that far off.

Comments about Continental Contact 700 Tire:
I bought these at REI about a year ago to replace my OEM Kendas. Couldn't beat the price, although even at that time, the 28 was hard to find (28 is spec'd at 102 max PSI!). [...]. Now that I need another one, they're virtually impossible to find, in-store or online. In the 3500 miles that I put on these (the front is still in great shape, btw), the rear was taking nearly all the abuse. Sure, I suffered about a dozen flats over the year, but that's both road and paved trail wear...mostly on a busy expressway littered with all sorts of broken car parts, glass, pine cones, dead squirrels and other sharp junk with the tires always at max PSI. I eventually rode it bald with seemingly thousands more miles to go, until last week when the sidewall tore. R.I.P. Wish I could get my hands on this same tire.
