Comments about Photon Freedom To The Max Micro LED Light:
This light is incredibly bright for having just one tiny bulb. My husband and I took two of them as our only light sources on a month-long backpacking trip. Unfortunately, one of them quit turning on suddenly after very few uses (hence the four starts instead of five), but REI graciously let us return it, as usual. The one that kept working, though, provided plenty of light for midnight potty runs and Scrabble games. While backpacking, I keep my light attached to me at all times, along with my emergency whistle, and I hardly even notice it until I need it. No more digging through the depths of my backpack in the twilight!
I'm very happy with the attachment options provided in such a small package. The swiveling hat clip/magnet mount is terrific.
Although battery life is much shorter than other lights I've used, the weight of a set of spare batteries is practically negligible. I took a handful of spares with me on our month-long trip and didn't end up needing any of them, since we generally went to bed and got up with the sun.
Also, I love the on/off switch. You don't have to pinch it to hold it on and it is easy to operate with gloved hands -- or teeth if need be!

Comments about Photon Freedom To The Max Micro LED Light:
I have used one daily for many years and it is just great. Easy to make a small headlamp out of it by clipping to a headstrap. Easily rides in the pocket or on a keyring or zipper. Surprisingly bright. It is interesting that you can remove the two 2016 batteries and replace them with a single 2032 battery and the runtime changes from good to amazing. Maximum brightness is a bit less, but it is still adequate for most tasks. I have never had a problem with it turning on by accident, but you can cover the switch with the included necklace bracket for extra security or put the switch into momentary mode if desired.

Comments about Photon Freedom To The Max Micro LED Light:
I carry one of these in my pocket every day. It's the best pocket light I've found so far. It worked great on my John Muir Trail hike this August, as well as on hikes in the Austrian Alps. I especially like the dimmer feature. It lets me turn on a very low beam in my tent so I don't have to risk waking my wife with a bright light. The high beam is adequate for short night walks or reading in bed.
I love these pocket lights... now I've just got to find a way to keep from losing them before they wear out.

Comments about Photon Freedom To The Max Micro LED Light:
I read the reviews and agree with everyone, this light is worth the money. I use it on overnighters as a headlamp and I keep one in my purse for unlocking the door in the dark. I do want to say, though, contrary to many of the reviews, this is NOT an adjustable beam (that means you can change the beam from narrow to wide). It does have an adjustable brightness (dimmer), which is cool for conserving energy or allowing your tent-mate to sleep while you write in your journal.

Dimmer feature is great. Also necklace and hat clip add versatility.
I bought one for each keychain. Also great for gifts or stocking-stuffers.

Comments about Photon Freedom To The Max Micro LED Light:
I've started using this as my main (and only) light source on all my camping trips, and all my friends are jealous, hehehe.
I haven't really used the different features or the hat clip, though I can see how they'd come in handy. I usually just hang it around my neck on highest brightness, where it casts light in all directions but doesn't glare in my eyes: perfect for walking and doing all kinds of tasks. It can also be pointed like a flashlight in case you want more light in one area.
I like the way it mounts on the clip and necklace thing, because if you flip it over, the button is covered, so you can put it in your bag and not worry about it turning on.
The battery has not died yet and the light has shown no signs of faltering or failing, though I've been camping a lot lately.
The manufacturers inform me that "water resistant" means it can be dropped in puddles and even run through the wash without dying, though it shouldn't be regularly submerged. So no worries about accidentally getting it wet.
The only improvement I could ever ask for is a version that can somehow be charged in the wilderness!
