Comments about REI Ultra Light Jacket - Kids':

I bought this jacket for my 7 year old daughter and she loves it. It's just the rigth type of jacket as an outershell, keeps the rain out and the warmth in. The velcro wrist straps allows for growth into it. It is light weight, easy to pack somewhere and a great jacket for everyday use. She absolutely loves it and won't even wear any other jacket.

I bought this jacket for my 7 year old daughter and my 9 year old son today and it is a PERFECT jacket!!! They love the light weight feel and the hood that can be zipped away. I also love the fact that it is waterproof. A little spendy [$], but worth every penny!!

Comments about REI Ultra Light Jacket - Kids':

This jacket for the most part is pretty waterproof except for in heavier downpours. The problem with this jacket is its flimsy fabric; its almost like plastic and it sticks to your skin if you wear it by itself. Also, the hood is not made for a humans head. It does not fit at all and has no strap or cord to keep it around your head so it is constantly blowing off any any type of wind. There are better jackets out ther for the same cost.

Comments about REI Ultra Light Jacket - Kids':

My daughter stays dry and comfortably warm with layers under this ideal year-round rain jacket. I was extremely impressed to see the rain bead off for 6 hours and more than an inch of rainfall during a day outdoors in Oregon this fall. It surpassed my expectations and now I know that no matter what adventure we go on, she will be dry (and everything in her zipper pockets)! There is no excuse for any child to be without this quality rain gear. It should be standard issue for all children. In the summer heat, it's lightweight and airy. The design allows for warmer layers underneath for winter temperatures. I like the adjustable hood. We can get the hood positioned exactly where my daughter can see clearly. The name should be changed to Ultra Light 'Rain' Jacket, as both qualities of weight and waterproofing are commendable. Hey what can I say, if it came in purple, I wouldn't have to convince my daughter that there are other colors worth wearing once in a while.

Comments about REI Ultra Light Jacket - Kids':

I bought this jacket as a starter for a smaller adult. It works well in less extreme climates, but as a Washington resident we put the waterproofing to the test and this one leaks in our more extreme downpours. I literally had water dripping down my neck where the drops would go straight through the connective material at the hood. It /is/ really light so if you are reasonably certain there won't be heavy downpour it's a good alternative. I have since invested in other jackets I like better- also in kid's sizes.
