This is a good watch for keeping time and basic chrono function, but do not depend on the compass. The band is the biggest downer about this watch. It will wear out very quickly and because of design, you cannnot replace it unless you go through Timex and pay them to ship another at [$]. For the price, it is a decent watch. [...]

Being a raft guide and a Blacksmith if anything lasts more than a month or two with no problems... I am happy to say the least. After a season on the river and months in the shop the watch has worn well.

The Strap is attached firmly to the watch and will not rip off your wrist as others that are held in merely by a simple spring-loaded pin.

The compass is reasonably accurate and if you expect something more precise from a wrist mounted, electronic compass I don't know what to tell you.

Multiple alarms with weekend/weekday/everyday settings.

The nylon fabric does wear within a 2 weeks. However since it serves no purpose other than looks I simply melted the frayed ends and went about my life.

This is a great watch. It has gained only about 10 s in 6 months since I last set the time.
The compass only can give a rough estimate of your heading but is still useful for general direction finding. Take a real magnetic compass at all times!

This watch should soon be extinct. The strap absorbed sweat from my wrist and it retained the odor. Smelled like an armpit after only a couple uses. The band fell apart quickly and there are no good options to replace it.

I like the watch and its functions all though I do not use all of them like the count down timer and multiple alarms. The digital compas is relativly accurate but I would not bank on it. The biggest downer is the watch band which I have not found a replacement for yet. I have scratched the face more than once relativly easily. If the watch band could be replaced easier I would probably purchase this watch again, I like the display with date, day, and time.

A great watch for [$]. I just bought it so I won't review it's durability but for being very cheap (compared to Casio, Garmin,and Suunto), I don't care about that as much.The compass is very accurate and matches the degrees of my Garmin GPS perfectly. I really like the built in bubble level that ensures a your watch is flat and gets a good reading. The other functions are great and the alarm is not a monotonous sound (actually has a little rhythm) which makes it more effective in waking me up. The only drawback is that the indiglo could be a little brighter (hence the four star review) but is sufficient. In all, having all these features and being 100m water resistant, I am very satisfied for the low price.

The only thing I don't like about this watch is the band, which only lasts a couple of years. I've had two, the second a free replacement from REI under warranty. Both bands rotted within a couple of years, and looked ratty in half that time. I wear this watch every day, the only moisture it sees is perspiration, and since I'm and old fart and don't exercise much, it leads a pretty sheltered life.

I would recommend an equivalent watch ONLY if it had a decent wrist band, or one that is user-replaceable with a standard wrist band.
