This renewable energy flashlight never needs batteries or light bulbs so it's always ready for emergency or outdoor use.

  • The motion of shaking the unit moves a high-power, rare-earth magnet repeatedly inside a wire coil, creating electrical energy

    Its what it looks like, a shake light. Kind of silly really, not the kind of thing id trust my life too but it is as advertised. If you really want my opnion, save the money and get a decent rechargable or something like that

        This just seems like a gimmick to me. You need to constantly shake this thing in order to keep light going. It barely gives off any light. There's no battery to hold your charge. The freeplay crank flashlight although heavy is much better for the same price. It has a battery which will hold your charge when you crank it. No need to shake the thing all night long.

        Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

        This flashlight works as advertised and is a great addition to a car or home emergency supply pack. The capacitor holds a charge almost indefinitely and is quickly recharged when depleted. I've dropped it from about 4 feet without a problem. However, it is too heavy and bulky for backpacking or horseback trail riding. A smaller version of this model would be better for such uses.

          I just got this flashlight and am counting the days to go to Yosemite and use it on my next camping trip.
          The main factor that made me buy it, was the fact that there is no battery needed ( NO WASTE ) and no bulb replacement.
          Devices that are environment friendly, is my thing!
          Great to have in the car and around the house for emergencies. There are no batteries to go bad and to the trash.
          Great buy! Go get one.

          I love this product! Its ultra durable, you don't have to replace the bulb, it NEVER runs out of batteries, its waterproof, and its a great price. I'm so glad that I bought this!
