Comments about Jetboil Jet Power Fuel - 100 grams:

Here are some tech specs if you want to plan and ration fuel. Ambient temp 70f elevation 900 ft.
water to be boiled is 2 cups.

boiling cold tap water is 2:45 secs burn time
3:10 secs for strong steam effect from lid.
Boiling "hot" tap water is 1:45 min

Boiling iced water 50% transparent ice 50% water
4:32 secs full thorttle.

Empty canister no plastic lid is 88.9 grams
2 grams per minute full throttle is fuel burn rate of jetboil with this canister.

Assume 6 grams to cook each 2 cup water dehydrated meal, make it 8 grams if cold snowmelt sourced water.

Main complaint is that I travel a lot via air around USA and need to find a canister locally. TSA prohibits air transport. May be hard to find in smaller cities and only found in finer outdoor sports stores. This may limit its utility for international travel,if you go global use liquid fuel based stoves. No Walmart or Target availibility wasted valuable time to locate it in some small towns and cities.

You can mail it on advance since cansiter is only 100 grams and there is a 1000ml or 1kg limit to mail camping gas fuel-ask post office first*. complaints of inefficient boil rates for higher alitiude may be because pressurized gasses dont work well in high altitudes and low temps, vapor and operating gas pressure will be less. try keeping canister inside your jacket to improve operating pressure.

Comments about Jetboil Jet Power Fuel - 100 grams:

I own the whisperlite from MSR as well and recently bought the Jetboil so I wouldn't always have to carry pots and pans. I just used it in 10 degree (farenheit)weather at 9200 ft and it performed admirably.

Comments about Jetboil Jet Power Fuel - 100 grams:

I have the complete Jetboil system. I love it. Recently, I spent a very cold weekend in Desolation Widerness (California) at 8500 feet elevation. My jetboil stove performed horribly. Not sure if it was the cold (20's and 30's) or the elevation, but performance was marginal (even with a new canister). Stove worked fine at home (Folsom).

Comments about Jetboil Jet Power Fuel - 100 grams:

Jetboil claims to only use their fuel with their stove. In reality, the fuel is the same but the canister is a little different. The jetboil canister is slightly smaller than the MSR and Snowpeak fuel canisters, allowing it to store inside the boiler along with the stove. The threaded interface is the same, so other fuel will work in a pinch just not pack inside the boiler.

Comments about Jetboil Jet Power Fuel - 100 grams:

I have used this stove in the winter back country Skiing and in summer Mountain bike camping. Summer use is excellent. Boils water in just a few minutes . Last winter we were out in the mountains it was in the low 20's and melted snow for all our meals and drinking water. It took about 15 minutes +/- to boil 3 cups of water. The stove was in a snow pit completely out of any wind.

Comments about Jetboil Jet Power Fuel - 100 grams:

My husband and I got the whole jetboil system for a backpacking trip and its performance was horrible. It was cold but this stove took forever to boil and cook. I went through the fuel in like 3 meals because it took so long. Not very efficient. We will be buying a more efficient system before the AT.
