Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

I ride all 4 seasons here in Utah. I have owned 2 sets/pairs of these booties for the last 2 years. Both pairs now need to be replaced. The product is NOT waterproof, but not bad either. I use the product in the winter, spring, and fall during rain storms, cold temperatures (i.e. 2 degrees F. to 45 degrees F.), and in snow melt conditions. I wear a size 12 mtb cycling shoe. For the good side of things: the product lasted 2 years and shielded my shoes in cases where the trail and/or road was wet, but I was NOT in a heavy rain storm. The product kept my feet warm in very cold conditions where no wetness was present (just cold air). Also, the booties fit/stretched-to-accommodate my shoes and had an ample opening for my mtb shoe's cleats. The bad side revolves around the zipper... The zipper is weak and placed incorrectly on the booties. The zipper (if any) should be on the side (not back) of the booties. During a rain storm, water flies off the back wheel and straight onto the zipper of booties, drips down into your shoe, your socks and your feet get soaked over time. The zipper (if any) should be water-proof! The zipper pull tab will break off in your fingers if you pull on it too hard, so be careful with it. The zipper will also not stay zipped up during an entire 1 hour (or longer) ride. I had to keep my zipper up by using a reflective, velcro leg-band placed around my ankle just under the zipper so that it wouldn't unzip. If these problems were addressed, I think the product would sell better. Also, the booties should be water-proof, not just water-resistant. I remember paying around [$] for these booties, and I don't think they're worth the price being asked. Perhaps should be [$]

Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

Live down under in Sydney where it rains quite often! These booties are fairly waterproof though if you ride more than 45 minutes in heavy rain you feet will get soaked really quickly. The water drips down from the top and through the zipper!
Also, the biggest flaw for me is that they aren't durable at all! I know you are not suppose to walk with these but c'mon, you always have to take a few steps, wherever you go! Mine are ruined already...from taking 10 steps on the pavement from the parking lot to my office!
So if you don't mind taking taking them as soon as you step down, these booties will do the job. Otherwise...stay away!

Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

I started bike commuting in Madison, WI this year. I went with Sugoi's bootie as it appeared lighter than the Pearl Izumi AmFib covers. They fit fairly well -- as well as I would have expected. I liked the velcro bottom strap (across the midfoot) rather than elastic band I've seen on others. To explain my use, I started wearing them in November. They have had fairly good water resistance. They have been warm on the short commute. We have received ~40 inches of snow in between the time I bought them and returned them (late December return). I have worn them for ~25 5-mile round-trip commutes. Unfortunately, the fabric covering the bottom of my toes wore out on both booties within 1 month -- I might walk 20 yards in these a day besides the toe touch at stops -- and BOTH toe bottoms wore out, not just the one I use at stops. Will be trying the pearl izumi product soon.[...] I don't think I've ever been so annoyed with a company.

Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

Theses covers are definitely good for cold weather riding but they soak through fairly quickly if riding in steady rains.

I was pretty happy with them in showers or dry colder weather last winter - but in the heavier rain seasons I need something more waterproof than these. They are a little tattered after a year in service but still servicable.

Still I'm going to try and find something different this fall that will actually keep my feet dry.

Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

Even though these are a little more expensive than some of the nice neoprene booties available, they keep you drier (they're more waterproof) and, therefore, probably also warmer. I've had these since January 2007 and rode with them all Winter, in snow and lots of rain (this IS Portland, and booties need to be really waterproof to be comfy on long rides), and never once did my feet get cold or wet.

Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

I use these booties on rainy commutes throughout the year here in Portland, OR and they are great. Although they don't breathe very well when the temp creeps above 55 deg F they still keep my feet and cleats dry. Which is more than I can say for the 3 other brands that I have tried (Pearl's, Performance, and Novara). If you bike in the rain you need to get these.

I use these booties to commute to work in wet weather. I have owned other booties and like these best because of the rear zipper, open bottom and stretchy fabric. The reflect-o rear and side accents are nice additions. I wear a size 43 Shimano shoe and bought a size LARGE.

Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

I live in Seattle, commute throughout the year, in all weather and I've had nothing but good experiences with these. That said I can see where they would wear out quickly if you were to walk around in them. They're not shoes, they cover shoes. They don't have soles.

Upon reading some of the other reviews I can see where people have had problems. Water WILL run down your leg into the top but I counter that with some nylon rain pants over lapping the booties. Another comment was made about water spraying off the back wheel and soaking into the zipper. Not a problem here as I have full fenders. I've never had the problem with the zipper unzipping.

I have been using a pair of these for nearly two years on wet commute days. They keep my feet warm, dry and they have held up; no tears or wear-out. I ride with Look Keo cleats and I learned early not to cinch the velcro under-foot closure too tightly. Leave them a bit on the loose side and you'll be able to get to your pedals w/o interference. Also aids in putting on & removing w/o having to undo velcro each time.

Comments about Sugoi Resistor Bike Booties:

These are the best booties I've yet to come across, at least for protection against water. Other waterproof models are way to bulky (neoprene) or not sturdy/strong enough, like Pearl Izumi's ultra-thin rain/wind proof bootie. While I can't say how they'd hold up in a crash, they withstand the daily grind of stretching them over your shoes/cleats without showing any sign of ripping and they are pure heaven on your feet in the rain.

I've tried so many different booties and while I like the Pearl AmFib's, they are trash when it comes to protecting against water. When it comes to cold-weather and water protection, I've found the best protection yet by combining the Pearl AmFib as a first layer and slapping these Sugoi's over the top. You get the warmth of the AmFib's and the excellent wind/water protection from the Sugoi's.
