            I have been looking for a pair of gauntlet style waterproof gloves(not insulated,just shells),when I saw the REI minimalist I thought my prays had been answered,they are lite weight,shell only,the fit was good and the label states;"100% waterproof and windproof",and they were on sale!Boy did I get taken!!the first time it rained I happily grabbed my new gloves and put them on only to have soaking wet hands 4 minutes later!!it almost seemed like they were absurbing water instead of repelling it,REIs Elements material does not work ,I will never buy any product made with it.this is a clear case of false advertising.[...]

            These gloves came advertised as waterproof. As a motorcycle safety instructor, I have the chance to put these to the test regularly in inclement weather.

            During recent heavy rains in the midwest, I used these gloves during my ride to instruction, during, and after.

            My hands were SOAKED to the bone, they provided zero protection from the rain.

            I would advise that these gloves be taken off the shelves as they do not afford protection from rain.
